What if test matches were played in terms of number of balls being faced?

Why is scoring important in test matches? Rather utmost important should be placed in terms of deliveries being faced.

records for individual innings-

records for most deliveries faced in total-

5. Allan Border - 27,002 deliveries
4. Shiv Chanders - 27,395 deliveries
3. J Kallis - 28,903 deliveries
2. Sachin Tenders - 29,437 deliveries

And THE GOAT

1. Rahul freaking Dravid - 31,258 deliveries

Tendulkar and Border faced much more than that tbf. Ball by ball data just wasnt available for large parts of Border's career and the early part of Sachin's.

How bout if you play and miss 3 times in an innings (cumulative, not just in a row) you're out. Batsmen have it too easy.

Doesn't include down leg, above shoulder or too wide of off

To keep an entertainment factor, I would still have runs but only on a 'hit it must run' basis.

Let's see you last 31,000 deliveries than Rahul. yeah talk now bitch!!!!!!!!
That'd be quite interesting actually, the format being based on balls faced would theoretically favour defensive play, but "hit it must run" would mean that blocking it just leaves you vulnerable to a short leg or silly point being put in just to run people out when they deadbat it and have to immediately sprint off down the pitch, so you'd see more attacking play anyway to avoid that

Rahul would probably never get run out, he'd dead bat the ball and his partner would be the one getting run out
