Neil Adcock close?
To Johnston? Nah Idts, recently @Coronis told me that Johnston had knee surgery in 1953 Ashes and it clearly shows statistically, very safe to say he wasn't at full output, without that his average falls to 22, his performance in 1940s Ashes serieses show how skilled he was on flat wickets, something not apparent with Adcock. I'd say Adcock falls in between Hall and Johnston

Lol @ Johnston by a mile. Yes Johnston had a better overall career bowling average. But consider impact at their peaks, and I think Hall would clearly take it. He was a shadow of himself after knee injuries.

Hall was definitely more influential as well. All things considered, it should be close, so I went with Hall.
