DJellett
International Debutant
Welcome-JOIN HERE!
G'day everyone, and welcome to the newest simulated league on Cricket Web. Please read this entire post
As you may have already determined, this is a World-Cup style competition, using Test matches. It will contain all ten Test playing nations, plus an "A" team WC alongside. All TEST teams have a twenty five man squad ("A" teams are differnt) to select your XI from. If you wish to join, post here your:
Name;
Nickname;
E-mail; and
the team you wish to use.
eg.
Name: Dylan Jellett
Nickname: DJellett
E-mail: fake@fake.com.fk
Team: The Fake XI
Teams will be given out on a first come, first served basis. Please, if you see a team which you want is taken, write "A" after the team name
eg. Fake XI "A" .
If all ten teams are taken when you join, you will be added to the "A" team Test World Cup.
The "A" team squads are 15 man squads instead of the regular 25.
The format of the comp will be:
Group Matches
2 groups of 5, 4 group matches each team, Top 2 from each group to
Quarter Finals. For the group matches (have you gone to sleep yet?) bonus points are awarded for good play:
3 points for Innings victory
1 point for score of 500+
1 point for bowling a team out for 150>
Quarter-Finals
Game 1: 1st Group A vs 2nd Group B
Game 2: 1st Group B vs 2nd Group A
Semi-Finals
Game 3: Winner Game 1 vs Winner Game 2
Game 4: Loser Game 1 vs Loser Game 2
Final
Game 5: Winner Game 3 vs Winner Game 4
Winner Game 5 is Champion.
After every Test World-Cup, some players may retire, and young players will come into the squad in their place. Each World Cup represents a new year, starting 2004. eg. World Cup no. 3 = 2006, although there will be a new Test World Cup every 2 months.
