From everything I’ve read in the "Continue or Not Thread" there seems to still be enough interest to keep the game running. I still plan to take a little break to sort some stuff out personally in my life (mainly studies). But I think it’s worth me providing you with my thoughts on an option to continue the game.

I know Greg offered to continue the game as it is and I’m more then happy for him to join the simming and maybe even take over as head simmer if he wants. I reckon him and Bugs could do a lot better job as head simmers then me.

But there is still a couple issues surrounding the game that need to be sorted out which means we can't really continue in its current format. The major issue is lack of depth in the managerial pool. There really is not enough managers to keep going with 24 teams.

Basically I think we need to start from scratch in terms of the number of teams. Also personally its very hard to run a league of 24 teams and find the times to do the extra things outside just simming the matches. As Greg mentioned in his post he was happy to everything but off season stuff. But that and the seasonal stuff (tables, stats, injuries etc) need to be kept to up date if we are going to keep activity. With all this in mind I feel the best size to start the league is with 8 teams. Its probably the best number for me personally to run the game the way I want to run, i.e the best number so I can find time to do the extra little things.

Ok 8 teams is not a lot and considering we have 23 current managers. Yeah it is going to mean that managers might miss out. But having the 8 managers who have shown the most longevity and interest is the best way to get the game back to its original highs. There will be 8 other spots available as secondary managers which I’ll explain later. So we will still have 16 managerial spots.

The basic proposed format is 8 teams of 15 players, with the first season likely to go for seven rounds of FC and OD. There will also be separated Twenty20 Comp where we will have addition managers replacing the old 2nd XI managers.

The 8 Teams will be made up of a selection of the current 24 sides based which managers get selected. So there is the option of current managers taking their current side over.

Basically I’m just trying to keep the game as simple as possible just one division, small player selection pool and short competition. Really just trying to get back to the roots of no frills game, something like what it was in the past.

Obviously these changes aren’t set in concrete. I just thought I would put them out there for managers to decide. Because once we go start again we need to get the format right, before we do anything else.

yer sounds good mate. i will put my hand up for a managers role mate. nsw! and i guess we can always iron out the creases and if we had enough interest make it 10 teams or leave it at 8 but lets knock heads together and come up with some ideas we can really get going!

mate i can handle simming the small amount of games to start of with either one day or fc, or 20 / 20

lets talk buddy sometime

Wouldn't mind making a return TBH, now that I'm not running the Predictions League and I've started to get used to be a Staff Member, my time is a bit more free. Obviously I'd be happy to miss out if there are enough current managers to fill the slots required.

Sounds like a good idea, though my feeling is 8 is too small a number. 10 would be better IMO. But you're in control, its up to what you feel is best, and is best for WCC as a whole. Also, putting my hand up to be a manager, i've been enjoying WCC, and would love to take it back to its former glory.

yeh i agree wit all that, but i also think that it would be best to have around 10 teams, just to make the season a little longer, and involving a few more managers, as im sure there will be competition for places!

Lets just say if all long term managers come back there is a good chance there could be 12 team comp. I'm just lazy and I rather a 8 team comp, a lot less work.

What do you want to take a month off or slowly start putting things together for the start of new WCC. I figure with CWXI about to start again there might be more sign ups, so we might as well slowy kicks things off to make the most of it. I was just thinking about putting up sign in threads and allocating sides. The draft and stuff wont happen for atleast a month or two anyway.
