To some degree.. and T20 very likely become a global game if it is played at the olympics in 2020 which by that time the ipl would have been running for 12 years.. and may include other franchisers from Eng, Pak and SL and in that time NZ RSA and Aust.. will have something akin to the Super 14 ...

i actually think that it will be a lot sooner than that, nowadays the ODI's have fallen under the criticism tht the version of the game is 2 long,( which is true..compare it ti other sports like football,icehockey,american football,rugby,boxing.. etc). think the viewers mite get used to watching a 3 hour game of cricket .... plus it works well for advertisers etc cos there will be a lot more viewers..,, i think what will really change things around is if in another few years, other countries start leagues with the same magnanimity of the IPL

It won't be long before we have 20/20 International Weekends with four teams involved. Two matches on the Saturday on the same ground one after another with the winners playing off for the trophy on the Sunday and the losers playing off for third and fourth place as the curtain raiser to the final.
