The draft

Typical draft scenario where you have managers picking #1-#30 in order of their finish (poor teams pick high/top teams pick low) and it's rotated. ie If you pick at #1, you have to wait 29 more picks and then you pick again. Therefore, 30 players will go with each round.

Yep basically at the end of the season we will work out a overall postion in the draft taking into account how you performed in the two forms of the game.

At the end of the season Blewy will request to all managers that they announce who they will be keeping dropping etc, once this is known Blewy can get these players stats updated first so the draft can go ahead.

Then Blewy will add the 6 players dropped from all teams and add the academy players and possible a few unkown rookies to bump the numbers up a bit.

Once this is done Blewy will put all these players into one huge list of about 300 players, these will become the draft picks.

Blewy will then release the order the managers will be picking in.

Managers then will probley have about 2/3 days to look through the list and select (depending on position in the draft) upto 59 players in the order of what you want them.

All lists are sent to Blewy - If a team doesn't submit a random ick will be made

Blewy will then go to the first person on the picking list and take the first player for them, come the 2-30 picks if the first choice is taken then Blewy will go for the 2nd player and so on. So the 18th pick could end up with their first pick or the 17th on their list for example.

Then we repeat the last few steps a few more times :D

My understanding is that you must keep 10 players (replacement rookies if kept are included as part of this 10).
Then if you want to keep either or both of your other youth players, you can, but you drop your 4th draft pick for the first and your 3rd draft pick also if you retain both.

Correct except for the rookies.

If you keep 1, you lose the 3rd pick, if you keep both you lose 3rd AND 4th.

So if you want to keep both rookies you still get your first two picks, but your third and fourth are substituted by the rookies.

Have I got this correct?

I will give a full rundown on the draft in the next week or so for those who aren't familiar with it....

Originally it was stated that keeping one rookie lost you the 4th draft pick, not the 3rd.
When did this change - did I miss a post on this?

It hasnt changed, cause nothing is changed. Last year you dropped your 3rd pick first and its the same this season.

im not sure if a formula has been worked out, id imagine it would just be the same as last season. 1d finishing postion combined with 4d finishing position and i guess there will be a magic number. Im sure Blewy has it worked out.

Posted by Blewy for the new managers just before the trade period opened! (and unchanged as far as I can tell!)

Ok guys here is the rundown on the Trading/Draft...

1st up is the Trade period...
It opens this Thurdsday at Midnight, It will remain open for a few weeks..
Trades can be made between any team, but there are a few basic rules and exceptions...
* Trades must be of equal value (ie 1 for 1, 2 for 2 etc.)
* Rookies which were handed out at the beginning of the season are not able to be traded, whereas rookies handed out as replacements for retiring players can be...
* Trades are not completely accepted to both teams managers have confirmed the trades in the appropriate thread, If a manager pulls out after giving their word its bad luck...
* If the trade deadline is closed before your trade is confirmed it will not be accepted...

The next step is the player cull, which is conducted after the last round of games...
What takes place here is teams cull their 16 man squads down to 10, now the catch here is that you also have the option of including your original rookies...
So you have a few options:
* Keep 10 squad players and 0 Rookies (u will have 6 Draft Picks)
* Keep 8 squad players and 2 Rookies (u will have 6 Draft Picks)
* Keep 9 squad players and 1 Rookies (u will have 6 Draft Picks)
* Keep 10 squad players and 1 Rookies (u will have 5 Draft Picks)
* Keep 10 squad players and 2 Rookies (u will have 4 Draft Picks)
* Keep 9 squad players and 2 Rookies (u will have 5 Draft Picks)

(If you drop Draft picks you will release your 4th round pick first and then your 3rd round pick)
Now the rookies you got for retiring players will be counted as squad players...

What happens now is once you have selected which players you are retaining all the released players will go into the draft pool with the left over academy players...

From there the draft will commence... Teams are allocated points for where they finish in each competition the team with the most points picks 1st, and so on until each team has picked 1 player for the round, then it starts again until all 6 rounds are completed... This will again give all teams 16 players...

After all is done teams have a 1-2 week period to conduct trades before the new season commences...

I think this about covers it...
If you guys have any questions just ask....

It was a typo by Blewy - it would not make any sense to do it the other way round.

I think I did correct him when he posted it initially.
