Now all the trades have been completed and the final sqaud is in front of you, what are your hopes and aims etc for the comming season?

eg

Kent

OD - Avoid the drop
FC - Gain promotion etc

ND's hopes for the up-coming season are:

OD: Avoid the drop and maintain consistancy which will hopefully lead to promotion.

FD: Same as above.

OVERALL: Players for both squads will need to show consistancy throughout the season as there are plenty of players who will be fighting for spots.

Eyes_Only's only hope for the up-coming season is that all players give 100% for the team and work hard in all areas of the game.

Well my FC and OD aims are pretty much the same and that is to get a promotion in both competitions. For the CA Cup i guess i would have to aim for a win....but reaching the semis would be good.

Well everyones going to sya they're aiming to win, so to be different, I aim to come 6th in OD and 7th in FC!

Yeah well thats cos all the teams are aiming to win.....like i dont think there would be a manager that goes into each match hoping their team gets smashed.

Kent's Targets

One Day

Considering Kent CCC was forced to cull nearly the whole One Day from last year, the OD side doesn't look in to bad shape.

A few signing made more for the FD side have also had good OD avgerages and have helped.

Target

Anywhere around or above 5th place would be a major achivement for the OD side.

Four Day

The Kent team has been built around the FD side so high hopes for the team are wannted. However the two teams that dropped from Division 1 ( Warwickshire and Hampshire) will both be very strong in the 4D league as well.

Target

Promotions is the main aim here

Some Players To Watch

B.Allen/S.Waugh/A.Flower/H.Singh/S.Hutton

Lancashire's main aim is first and foremost survival in both competitions. And I'm hoping we might surprise a few people!
The twin spin attack of C.Schofield and M.Pushpakumara will hopefully be a real force although the pacemen are also more useful than their team page stats suggest.
Amongst the batsmen, look for the youth players A.Schiller and K.Baumgarner to come through strongly in adition to proven performers such as M.Ramprakash, R.Dravid and J.Modanagopal.
The first game up against reigning champs Queensland should be a useful barometer of where the side is at.

well after a long off season, and a heap of trading the SA team looks very very strong...

The teams goals for the season are:

One Day

We have built a solid one day team with alot of all rounders although its not as strong as our 4 day team but still feel this team has the ability to challenge...
Predicted Finish 3rd

4 Day

This is our goal, i believe we have an lethal 4 day side, with a host of great batsman a heap of good bowlers and a few great allrounders, I will be looking for my top order of Laxmann, Jenkins and Lehmann to fire and with our 2 pronged spin attack i feel we can do damage...
The team has players like M.Miller, B.Samuels, P.Rofe, and B.Young as back-up players and with the starting XI batting all the way down to number 9(who aves 30 in 4 day games) i feel this team can take it out...

Preditced Finish 1st

Your praise won't fool my men!
Fair enough, I wont give anymore compliments then :P

And I think my 1st round game will be tougher :( (vs the new SA team)
Surrey better than SA IMO!

We know your trick Rich - praise my men, and watch them relax and be beaten - we refuse to let that happen!

My batting is also strong (only 2 of the squad average less than 22, and it's unlikely they'll both play at the same time!)

Bowling wise, I'm a bit all-rounder heavy, but they're quality players none the less.

The Argonaut

State Vice-Captain
The aim is for promotion in both OD and FC games. The OD is the more likely of the two. Hopefully the all rounders will do all right (Ganguly, Klusener and Dale).

The other goal is for the team to drink more than last season. Ganguly has been putting in plenty of the pre-season hard yards and is leading by example.
