Gavaskar slightly ahead because he was an opener and for a long time the only great batsman in his team

I rate Greg Chappell very highly though For me, he is the second best retired Australian batsman ever and almost on par with Sir Viv Richards in test cricket.

tbf I think its ok to have another comparison after 2 years. For example with the recent Walsh/Roberts comparison, there was one in 2022 with the results being:

Roberts - 15
Walsh - 11

whereas the current one has:

Roberts - 1
Walsh - 11

And as someone that watched a lot of both of them the 2022 result is accurate and the new latest one is way off the mark, so pointless 😆

Sunil Gavaskar was the first Indian cricketer who took no **** from any opposition. The first world class cricketer from India and was widely respected for his talent.
