Stumped!

Chasing 182 need 36 in final over. At least did not get bowled out!.... Lose by 21 runs.

The first innings included 10 drops (5 by wk) and 1 miss stumping. I feel that the team will become considerably more competitive once fielding improves.

Do you still get to train, recruit etc during off season?
Train, recruit, and do transfers yes - probably your players won't have as much improvement because no skill training. Also you pay the players' wages so hopefully you have something left in the bank account

Congrats to ZCC and Jalal, that was a decent time to come up with a hattrick

We dropped 4 catches but still came out with the win somehow. Arif Jalal with 3/20 in 4 overs including a hattrick, also hit a useful 14 off 8 balls . Hashim Zahid excellent as well. 1/17 in 4 and 15* off 6.

Finishing in the Top half of both the SOD and T20 leagues after the start we had was a phenomenal effort. The team looks in decent shape for next season as well. Finances are in a tricky position tho - we may need to lay off Jaivant Visvayu from the coaching staff :(

International Coach
Won an OD vs GG CC. Batted first, got 278-7 on a tough pitch, with the holy trinity of Shaffrey, Aylmer, Clift all got 50s. Juan Goliath (4-25) and Liam Kotze (3-60) dismantled the @SillyCowCorner1 chase. Bram Human hit 55 (93) but GG ended up 188 all out.

FHK in the weird position of having two games running simultaneously for a while there. Dev game vs Jura CC as well, lost that trying to chase 210 for victory. Batting is still overly reliant on the Top 3 of Agnes, Nathan and Tony.

Different batting lineup for TMO - got a lot of the younger kids up top, so there's a chance here for some early wickets.

That'sa big wicket too - Agnes has actually been in good form recently! Had just gotten her Friendly Dev batting average to tick above 30.

All on Nathan Law and Tony Chung at 5/6 to finish the game off when they come in to bat. The tail's got some sting in it too - Ivan Lam, Lester Shum and Lai O Yin all capable bats.

Only a 12 skills increase... but super importantly Mthombeni has 2 wk skill! Most of the skill increases where actually in the 3 or 4 players that are future of team so all good.

Have also now managed to get my (youngish) coaches to skills of 9 fielding, 8 batting and 7 bowling. Bowling coach currently on a course. So future looking promising.

Gwong Long joins FHK Coaching Staff!

The former ZCC and Dynamo Morpork middle-order batsman has joined FHK today in his new role of batting coach.

This is the first coaching stint for the 32 year old, whose playing career spanned 17 seasons and 539 matches across all formats.

The bulk of his career came at ZCC, where he played 303 competitive league matches, scoring 8209 runs at an average of 34.93 and a SR of 122.87, with 43 fifties and 10 hundreds. His run tally is the third highest in ZCC history, and he also managed to take 250 wickets with his part-time offbreaks. He made his Dev cricket debut with ZCC back in Season 11, and played his final league game for the club in Season 25, signing off with a 123(91) and 1/17 in a SA Div 1.1 encounter. Since then he has enjoyed two fruitful seasons with Dynamo Morpork, parting ways with the club on his 32nd birthday. His 2nd last appearance was against FHK in the CCCT20 friendly comp, where he scored 28 off 19 and took 1/4 in a losing cause.

Born in Hong Kong as Jaspreet Mann, Gwong Long changed his name on his 18th birthday as a nod to his Cantonese heritage. His father, of Indian descent, fled the SAR when he was just 7 years old, leading to him and his mother moving to the UK to live at his grandparent's home. He picked up playing cricket while in school, and his talent was discovered through the Peachy Pups youth academy. At the age of 16 he moved to South Africa to pursue a professional cricket career, with ZCC purchasing his contract for 1.85 million pounds before he had even played an official league game.

Gwong Long will be the first coach of Cantonese heritage at FHK. We wish him the best of luck as he puts his lifetime's worth of experience and his passion for the game towards developing the next generation of Cantonese cricketers.

How much was spent on the name-changing ceremony?
20 credits. Well worth it

I know I classify Gwong Long as a middle order batsman, but he had quite a decent career as an opener too. His career highest of 211 came as an opener (scorecard). Real quality player when he was at his peak, well worth the 1.85 million investment as a 16 year old.

Probably would have played international cricket if he was from a smaller nation. I know BD have picked players with less than 45 batting pot. His bowling was really only useful at club level tho.

Looks like a great chap.

I am getting Shane Watson vibes

I have a 4-over friendly coming up in a few minutes against GG CC. It is our 6th encounter, and I have managed to defeat them for the first time in the previous game. Will be looking forward to continue this momentum.

But as I was meticulously setting the order and hitting 'submit', I found out that it was too late...and I am not sure my default lineup can beat GG CC.

This happened to me 15 minutes before the start of the match...5 minutes ago.

What's the deadline for submitting orders?

Deadline is 15 minutes before start, yeah. At least it wasn't a competitive match though your rivalry with yourself is compelling
