International Coach
T20: 6 @StephenZA ducks saw me win by 6 wickets, basically. Juan Goliath's 4-9, Jasper Davey's 3-21, and Steve Ludlow's 2-7 saw MTO collape to 84 all out. Bobby Shaffrey hit 56* (32) to ensure a win for AXI, despite Hetal Tyagi's 2-5. MTO player Jeroen Viljoen had a good all-round performance -- 22* (10), a run out, a wicket -- but no other batsman besides Shaffrey could get going, as evidenced by 5 of 18 MTO batting overs being maidens.

Bad recruit sadly. My T20 game is just starting,

Yea agree, I usually set a MAS of 120 for Dev and T20, and 180 for OD (200 if the pitch is good to bat on).

It's always why I prefer to bowl first - a lot of sides have overly aggressive MAS and implode batting first against decent bowling attacks.

Picking your Dev team on potential is almost always the right way forward. Only exception is when you have to win to secure promotion or avoid relegation.

Signups for CWC3 are now closed. We have 12 teams - 11 CWers and Jura CC, who have been asking to take part. I've asked them to join CW but I doubt they will. They're a decent team, should be good fun playing them.

12 teams = 24 group stage games, once a week from 3rd July onwards. Saturdays 12:00 in game time.

Once we're done with the group stages, we'll split the Top 6 in a Cup KO Competition and Bottom 6 into a Plate KO Competition. Same structure for both comps:
Play-Off 1 - 3rd vs 6th
Play Off 2 - 4th vs 5th
Semi Final 1 - 1st vs winner Play Off 2
Semi Final 2 - 2nd vs winner Play Off 1
Final - winner of Semi Finals

These games will have to be arranged on our own, and we should be done with the entire league by December.

While this runs everyone is free to run their own shorter friendly comps on the side, or to arrange bilateral series between clubs. Maybe @Magrat Garlick would be willing to set something up?

GG CC triumphed over Varday with a 49 run win.

Losing the toss and inserted into bat, GG started with all guns blazing, adding 50 in 5 overs. Bram Human continued his relentless batting, hitting 35 off 15 balls...After his wicket in the last over of the powerplay, GG's innings went through a stage of losing wickets in heaps. From 51 for 1 to 77 for 7....eventually got bowled out in the 18th over with 139 on the board.

With 140 to get for Varday, they were on the back in the powerplay-- losing half of their side...but a spirited fightback from Chintu Narsi batting at number 8 made 41 and got his team to 90 before he was the last man dismissed.

Bowling for GG, Sebastian Plaatjies once again among the wickets with 4 for 22 (4), Christo Theron with 2 for 19 (2.4), Kasun Obeysekere with 2 for 20 (4), wicket apiece for Attlee and Koelemoer.

This win saw GG sitting comfortably in second place in the league with 57 points. Played 13, won 12, lost 1

ZCC have pulled out of the relegation zone! :toot:

Batting first away from home on a slightly dry and worn wicket, piled on 226/2. Shahbaz Furqan continued his brilliant form with 103 off 50 balls, and Raun Shkorer added the finishing touches with 66* off 31. The bowlers then struck at regular intervals to bowl them out for 142 in 17.5 overs. 16 year old left-arm leggie Livpreet Thakar managing to nab a wicket in his solitary over. Good experience for the young lad, and a big win for us.

We still need to win our final game to absolutely ensure we do not relegate, so the hard work isn't done yet. But it's nice to be sitting in the top half of both senior leagues atm :)

Dominant win considering you tied on ratings ? Fairly sure a bonus point will be enough too given your fixtures.

Atm it looks like I will go up into that league, and probably bounce straight down cos I've got nowhere near the XP to be competitive while keeping my dev players improving (and Gwong Long is no longer D2 standard)

The FHK Academy continues to produce outstanding talent

Not sure yet if I'll be keeping him or selling him. I've got a lot of good trainees already and his low starting skills means he'll need a lot of training and game time. However I will need to buff up the squad a bit to start next season. Might have him stick around as Dev filler till we get KOed from the cup next season and then list him.

Absolute SCENES at Schmaltzberg Mining Inc as the ZCC Dev team went down to a 25-run loss despite being outrated 33k to 41k

Cornelis "Cees" Steenkamp and Shanuka Kurusumuttu put on a mammoth 188 for the second wicket, flaying all comers (Kurusumuttu lived a charmed life but Steenkamp was just impervious until he got smacked on the pads by a fuller quicker one from Younis). With 254 on the board, ZCC had to take chances, but the ex-Dynamo lads Grobbelaar and Tudor just didn't want to contribute and from there on it got tough.

Definite lightning in a bottle result but good work from the la's, extra dose of grub at dinner for those who want it
