Somerset major press release

Mr. P

International Vice-Captain
Somerset manager Guy Kerridge has said today that all players are open, exceptions being A. Morris and G. Hopkins, who have already left the club. Kerridge said today that a few surprises may be in store for next season.

"Some may be surprised to find that we have already been among the thick of things trading wise. I am confident next season will be a good one."

Somerset have indicated they will be open to all deals, but will be happy if they can find a good spinner, so may trade the better players for one.

Somerset express HUGE interest in Ponting

Somerset have said they will go to large lengths to gain Ricky Ponting in their squad. Ponting, who currently plays for Davids Leicestershire, is first on the Somerset picking list. Guy Kerridge said to David today, look into our squad, think of someone you want or a deal you would be happy with, and we will take it into deep consideration.
