Sunny faced atg bowlers on bowler friendly surfaces as an opener. I while i respect sanga but he played on most batting friendly era and did badly vs McGrath and was average vs styen both of them who are atgs

I don't think Sunil gavaskar is really that good to gets 90 percent of votes against a batter whose average is best since Bradman (min 10 k runs).
You got to see avg with some context,

During Sanga's career, Pakistan was a formidable team, with exceptional bowlers.

Instead of going by W/L ratio, you should go by bowling averages of those teams.

Nah, doing well against top teams is not just about bowling. Good teams pile up big scores and put you under pressure. It's easier to face good bowlers if they are playing for relatively poor teams. It's much harder ot face good bowlers when they play for great treams like Aus/WI of previous era.

We can surely look at bowling avg but it's not a substitute of facing and doing well against top teams.

Better bowling average than India tho.
Over all yes, but not in Asia where Sanga played those two teams.

40-45% of total runs of Sanga came against BD/Zim/Pak. Nothing wrong in that, but that's why I said career avg needs ot be seen with context. All career runs and career avg are not the same. On top of that, it was the most flat era with 19 batsmen averaging 50 plus duriong his career with more than 3K runs.

Batsmen with Avg of 50 plus during exact period when Sanga's played: 19 batsmen with 50+ avg & 3K runs.

Sanga's career avg his high due to super flat track period and him having 40-45% of his runs against BD/Zim/Pak. Seeing everything gives some context . Otherwise I see many fans going over board in rating Sanga based on his career Avg.

He was a good batsman but not anywhere close to what his career avg may indicate.
