There will be 12 teams in 3 groups of 4

Each team will have 20 Test players and 20 ODI players - the Test players will be those already used in A League for the Ages season 1 - the selection of ODI players will be revealed as part of the drafting rules.

Each team will play the other 3 in their division at home and away.
Top 2 from each group go into Final 6 and the Bottom 2 to Plate 6.

In the groups of 6, each team will play each other at home and away.

Test Competition takes place every weekend, with the One Day Competition in midweek.

In Tests: 10 for win, 4 for Draw, 5 for Tie with 2 point bonus for 1st Innings lead if side doesn't win.
In ODIs: 4 for a win with a bonus point for either chasing down a target within 40 overs or where the opposition get less than 80% of the score set.

Draft order is set, with players position in each round revealed only when the previous round has completed.

The Draft rules will be released nearer the draft as they need finalising.

12 teams are:
Toronto Tigers
Lahore Lions
Eden Gardens Eagles
MCG Manta Rays
Basin Reserve Bears
Lords Leopards
Sharjah Sharks
Kandy Kangaroos
Cape Town Cougars
Kensington Oval Komodos
Harare Hammerheads
Dhaka Dingos

The 2 organisers will assign teams to the lucky managers when applications close - no requests for teams will be entertained.

All decisions by the organisers are binding and no discussion will be entered into.

Pitch conditions will be fixed pre-Draft, and will remain the same for the entire Tournament.

Applications to be a manager must be by email here - include in the application your forum name.
Applications will close at the end of Season 1.

The name Lions is already taken though, but I suppose in a mutual agreement approved by both Marc and I, that name could be changed. As it is though, no one knows what team he (or she...) will be getting.

Submissions must merely include the forum name of the potential manager.
Is it possible for mangers who submitted application get notification that their application was recieved. Not if they were accepted, but if you got the email?

How long a gap will their be between the end of Season 1 and the Draft and such-like of Season 2

Hopefully not too long - Liam and I are constantly discussing this.

Don't forget there still may be a tie and a play-off.

The rules state that if a chosen test player has played at least 20 ODI they will be included in the OD squad. Is it the same for a player who is chosen as a OD player but has played test cricket but wasn't involved in A League For The Ages 1.

I'm talking about someone like Scott Styris or Michael Bevan.

No, the Test players will all come from the 240 named originally.

If they've played 20 OSI's then they'll play in that form as well, but the other way won't count.
