**Round 4: One day Reports**

International Captain
Warwickshire in the still in the hunt

Warwickshire have set a goal, to finish in the top 3 in division two. That goal is still well in the picture after a 28 run win over Glamorgan. Sent into bat, Warwickshire were quickly reduced to 16/2 before Penney (87*) and Jayasuria (94) combined for 171 run partnership. Their effort helped them reach from 227/6 in their 50 overs.

In reply Glamorgan, made a top start before reaching 80/1. Drama then struck as Wisneski and Giles ripped through the middle order. Glamorgan had lost 6 wickets for 15 runs, including Ganguly for only 2 and they were now 95/6. The trouble continued as Akram went for six leaving Glamorgan 7/117. Lance Klusener showed his fighting spirit, and Glamorgan fought on has Klusener, conbined with Cosker, bletted the Warwickshire bowlers around the park. With things looking like they could go either way, Chapple stepped in and dismissed Cosker for 31. Now 8/186, with only Black and Parkin to come. Klusener tryed his best finishing on 61 not out, while Black was run out and Parkin fell to Sriram, finishing all out for 199AO.

Cricket Spectator
Western Australia have beaten the powerfull Mumbai side by 15 runs.

WA batted first and amassed a decent 6-273 from their 50 overs. Losing Gilchrist and Langer for 7 and 0 respectively, WA batsmen Hussey, Hick and Ostler got them up to the more then competitve total. Hick starred finishing on 126 not out, while Ostler made a brilliant 81. Hussey batted for 38 balls to make his 41.
Hettiarachchi was the best of the Mumbai bowlers with 3-44 of his 10 overs. Sigera was the only other multiple wicket-taker.

In reply, Mumbai started strongly with a 128 run first wicket stand before Kumar was runout for 39. Darden batted for a wonderfull knock of 144, and was holding the innings together before he lost his wicket to Harvey, who finished the day with 3-28 from his 10 overs. After their alloted overs, Mumbai fell 15 runs short in compiling a total of 6-258.
Man of the match was Hick with 126 from 124 balls.

LANCASHIRE hosts Yorkshire

After their shock loss to Yorkshire in the FC competition, the Lancashire boys were out to exact revenge in the OD competition.

Yorkshire batted first, but theirs was a truly pathetic effort as they were humbled for 90 all out in the 20th over.
M.Richardson (25) got them off to a reasonable start at 43/1 and after he went, only C.Hooper (31no) showed any application as wickets fell regularly at the other end.
C.Schofield was the destroyer taking an incredible 5/7 from 5 overs. M.Mendis chimed in with 2/0.

In reply Lancashire lost A.Swann (0) early, but A.Schiller (40) and M.Ramprakash (37no) saw their side through to an 8 wicket victory with 30 overs to spare.

Some weirdo adjudicator decided that R.Dravid should be awarded man of the match for his one catch and two stumpings! Wonder what Schofield did to upset the adjudicator!?

NSW STRUGGLE AGAINST QLD.
after beating qld last weekend in the 4day game they wanted to keep the struggle on for the bulls and hand them another defead in the one day arena and by doing so would have a nice 2 point gap to 2nd spot, however qld would spoil the party for the blues.

good bowling by qld seen the star studded blues to be bowled for 130 of 30 overs.
b haddin and m bevan would be really the only ones to make a mark.
qld would win by 3 wickets however at one stage would be 6 - 117 and it was a close game.

qld did well and with wa knocking off mumbai there is a 4 way battle for the tittle with all 4 teams having to play one more game against one of the teams in the fight.

will be an interesting finals couple of weeks

State Vice-Captain
The Qld side came back after last week's defeat to NSW.

NSW struggled to 130 after Kasprowicz (4/32) and Sheriyar (3/41) did the damage. Hayden 29 and Hussain 35 ensured that there weren't too mnay dramas in the chase. Brett Lee was handy with the ball.

The win showed that Qld are the ones to beat in the chase for the one day crown. Plenty breathing down my neck.
