Delayed Reaction
After 5 weeks of whinging and moaning from the Auckland player's dressing room's the beers, could start flowing for the first time.
It didn't seem possibly but finally all of Aucklands class came together at once, batting first on a good deck, D Anderson went about slashing a quality bowling line up to all parts of the ground, by the time the first wicket fell at 71, Anderson had added 54, and the member's at the Somerset ground were starting to mumble about being one of the first to see a double hundred in one day. No other assistance was added from the side, with only R Lynch reaching double figures with 18. This was due to some quality bowling from A Caddick 10 2 35 5. The innings was closed at 255 from 46 overs with D Anderson finishing with 153 off 125 being the star.
The Somerset innings was one which was stuttered. They looked like giving a good chase but when 1 wicket fell unfortunately another one would go within a few runs. HGJM (what sort've a first name's that) Kulatunga provided the only resistance with 57* but the top order was contained by Donald, Harriss, Martin and JOshi. However Hitchcock 4 2 5 9, was the one which meant Auckland wouldn't have a repeat performance of the VB cup clash by cleaning up the tail, and taking a hat trick in the process.
All in all a good trip to England for the boys and MOM D Anderson :saint:
