Round 13 Reports!!!

Graham

3rd Umpire
LANCASHIRE v NSW

NSW batted first and got off to a shaky start with both M.Waugh(6) and B.Haddin(1) back in the pavilion with the score at 20/2.
C.Richards(17) was next to go and NSW were 65/3 with P.Martin, A.Flintoff and C.Schofield each having shared in the spoils.
But there was to be no further success for the Lancashire bowlers as M.Bevan(113no) and M.Clarke(56no) batted through the rest of the innings. The only consolation for the visitors was that exceptionally tight bowling restricted NSW to a smallish total of 217/3.
C.Schofield(10-3-27-1) continued his impressive season and it is no real surprise that manager GrahamB has removed all thoughts of trading him. The youngster J.Anderson(10-2-38-0), fighting to retain his place in the squad for next season, turned in a well controlled stint at the crease without reward for his efforts. A.Flintoff(10-1-44-1), G.Maiden(10-1-47-0) and P.Martin(10-2-49-1) also did their bit in holding the home side.

After a superb effort in the field, the Lancashire batsmen failed to back up their bowlers as B.Lee(6-0-26-4), S.Lee(6-1-20-3) and G.McGrath(3-0-15-2) ran through the batting lineup to skittle the visitors for an embarrassing 104.
A.Swann(41) and M.Chilton(29no) were the only Lancashire players to make a worthwhile contribution in the dismal total. Swann has had a fine season, scoring 3 100’s and 3 50’s in amassing 734 runs at an average of 67 (includes friendlies).

A convincing win then to NSW by 113 runs, but look out next season. Lancashire aim to improve on their 4th place finish of Season One!

Rich2001

International Captain
Kent manager Rich2001, finally surfaced in a local pub, after drowing his sorrows after Kent were stuffed at the hands of SA managed by fellow board member Gregory Blewett.

This lose ment Kent were knocked out of the promotion race leaving SA and TN to take the step upto the big leauge. Leaving Kent to battle away in Div 2 again next season

Kent manager was deeply unhappy with his team performance and can't bring himself to speak about it and is heading back to the pub

Kent's team will be replaced with a local school team for next weeks clash as they can't do any worse (no really I mean it)

U19 12th Man
Surrey v Colts

First game for the Surrey Manager. :)

Surrey batted first and with the help of a splendid 62 by Brown and some late order resistance by Ian Salisbury and Saqlain reached a score of 265.

MJ Sigera took 3 wickets for Colts.

Colts were looking good at 215/4 while chasing but lost 4 wickets in a hurry. A last gasp effort by Pushpakumara and Kalavitigoda ensured a thrilling end to the match.

Surrey won by 4 runs and I.Salisbury was named Man of the Match for 3 wickets and a quick fire 33.

I.Salisbury's performance came as rumours were spreading that the Manager might drop him in the next season draft. :D

Umpire Money

State Vice-Captain
Yorkshire v Qld

With the Ca Cup final next week Yorkshire are breaking record after record.
Just two weeks ago they got all out for 68 and this week 65. Great performance.
Three weeks in a row we have not scored over 100.
NSW will have an easy win over me next week.
Qld win by 10 wickets

Umps... That is funny... :D

Tassie vs Tamil Nadu...

Tasmania batting first were never in trouble against the Tamil Nadu attack, with both openers Jamie Cox and the now traded Micheal Dighton, posting fifties.

Ponting, DiVenuto and Wright all posted thirties as Tassie cruised to 8-268. S.Vidyut was the only multiple wicket taker with 3-68(10).

Tamil Nadu also started well and got to 78 before losing the first wicket, proving that the quicks are not much use...

Only Sharath posted 50 for the Tamil side with some quick scoring by S. Saravanan 0 of 20 balls. A stiff tailend performance stopped a rout, but a large win was all Tasmania required. Tamil Nadu getting 9-212 off their overs, still 50 runs short.

Tubb (3), Wright, Pascoe and Watson (2 each) all bowled well with only Thomas failing to make an impact.

DG Wright gained yet another man on the match award, but in the end it did little good for the tassie season, the team now certain to end up in the relegation zone.

Paid The Umpire gave us a sound bite which is a little rude so here it is...

"**** yeah, that was the best ****ing game ever! We ****ing won! ****ing Cox and ****ing Dighton both got ****ing 50's good ****! Our only ****ing problem is our ****ing running between the ****ing wickets ****in'! We will be ****ing drunk by tonight, I can ****ing tell you! Look ****ing out ****ory ****ett **** **** *******s **cause we will ** ****ing your *****s!"

Paid The Umpire was later fined all his match fee by the WCC board, for vomiting over the CA Cup trophy which was on display.

Sorry about the ****ing language

Another good win by Worcestershire has seen them move up to a very good 3rd position is divison 2.
Somerset batted first and made 205 from 47 overs, the runs were shared around with Flower top scoring with 44.
Pick of the bowlers for Worcs was Batty with 3/25.
Batty then backed up with the bat to earn himself man of the match honours. Batting number 6 he scored and unbeaten 56.
Top scorer in the Worcs innings was Smith with 73, he continues to score heavily after a mid season form slump.
Caddick was the pick of the Somerset bowlers with 4/29.
Worcs got the runs 7 down in 42 overs.
A positive result before the upcoming friendlies where they will meet this Somerset side twice.
