Well that is just about it, for the Tasmanian side for this season.

Now, needing two wins out of the last three to give them a sniff of a chance to avoid relagation.

They batted and got 195 all out. A good start but having four players get ducks and three players getting run out, they stuggled.

The bowling of Tassie had goven them a chance with Glamorgan needing 45 runs with two wickets in hand.

But yet again the bowlers failed. D.Cosker and D.Harrison both getting past single digits to win the game.

TAS 195
Glam. 9-199

Glam by 1 wicket
MOM: S.Clingeleffer 67* and a catch.

Another poor bowling performance condemned Warwickshire to another defeat and it now looks like any 2 from 3 to go down from Division 1.

Only Carter with 2-38 emerged with any credit as Lancashire amassed 273-4 from their 50 overs thanks to an outstanding 111 from Roberts.

In reply, Knight made a run a ball 50, but the rest of the top order dawdled (Anderson managed to bowl his 10 overs for just 21) and at 111-5 it was all but over. A spirited 64 from Troughton and a beligerant 37* from Brown hoisted the Bears to 247-8 when the overs ran out, the leg spin of Schofield causing havoc and finishing with fine figures of 5-33.

Warwickshire clearly missed Giles here, and with him out for the season, they will need a miracle to remain in Division 1 next season.

LANCASHIRE v WARWICKSHIRE.

Lancashire batted first and got off to a great start with A.Swann(75) and T.Roberts(111) putting on 156 for the opening stand. N.Fairbrother(18) and R.Dravid(11) went cheaply, but G.Lloyd(34no) was there at the end with the score at 273/4.
N.Carter was easily the best of the home bowlers with 2/38. None of his fellow bowlers claimed a wicket!

In reply, N.Knight(53) looked in good touch, but lacked early support as Warwickshire slumped to 77/3.
When M.Powell(34) fell at 111/5, it all looked over, but a late rally by J.Troughton(64) and D.Brown(37no) got Warwickshire through to 247/8, just 26 runs short.
The promising youngster J.Anderson continued to impress for Lancashire with a tight spell of 10-4-21-1 in support of C.Schofield's devastating 10-3-33-5. Another youngster G.Maiden also performed well again with 10-1-49-2.

Lancashire now lie 4th on the table, just 2 points adrift of Mumbai.

nsw v mumbai was always going to be a close game. low scoring it may have been but spectators got there moneys worth with some very superb bowling performances.

nsw batting first and got of to a horrible start and at one stage where 5 - 44 with star batsmen m bevan 5(20) and he is very disapointed. m waugh was the only batsmen in the top 5 to get double figures with 23 (23).s lee batted well with 23 (46) when it was needed and m clarke a top knock of 48 (69). b lee also batted well with 18*(37) to manage a total of 172. could they defend or could mumbai cruise to victory. it was up to the nsw strike bowlers to cause some damage.

mumbai looking good at 0 - 40 until the collapse.jaffer was the top score for mumbai with 38 (25). mumbai where then 6 - 68 loosing 6 - 28 in what was a great spell of bowling from s lee and s macgill.
s lee's bowling figures where 5 overs 1 maiden 4 - 18. s macgill backed him up well when it was needed with 5 overs no maidens 2 - 16. mcgrath and b lee also picked up 1 each. in the end nsw come away victors by 30 runs with s lee picking up the man of the match.
we spoke to bugs malone after the game
bugs good win.

yer look it was a good win away from home, and its tuff over here and mumbai are a great side. they have a lot of depth, we didnt bat well but our bowlers really stepped up and did the damage which was pleasing when only defending a sub standard total.

bugs u know qld won.
yer look as long as we keep winning thats all i can ask from my blokes. when we played them it was a 1 wicket game so if we can draw to with in 2 points when we play them last who knows but they are a good side so we just have to keep playing well and worry about our game and im sure it will all plan out out.

thanks mate

yer cheers.

State Vice-Captain
Yorkshire v Hampshire
After a spiteful boast the week before Hampshire manager gave Yorkshire a mouthful but couldnt back up his claim at all. After saying we would bat for one second Yorkshire batted ok.
Blakey was the outstanding scoring 99 and McKenzie(who is the replacement for Lehmann)scored his third consecutive duck.
Hamilton was my pick for MOM but the match said different.
Hampshire couldnt bat to save themselves and lost putting themselves at the mercy of WA and Warwickshire. Yorkshire puts themselves out of contention for relegation and hopefully some form for the CA cup final.
McKenzie will be dropped but not forgotten.

Glamorgan hit form again with a one wicket thrashing of lowly Tasmania. An even bowling performance from the bowlers and batsmen was good to see. Chasing 196 for victory the top score was only 32 from Cherry. Three bowlers got 2 wickets each and the 3 run outs hurt the Tasmanians. The tactic of bowling at one of their heads obviously worked as they got rattled and the running between wickets faltered.

The boys enjoyed a number of Boags after the match but the bluegrass music played by the band was annoying especially when Ponting brought out his banjo. ;) ;)

As it looks like I'll get 2nd pick in the draft and you'll be first, I'd have first crack at him and I probably would take him. However I would insist on him not bringing the banjo.

Queensland vs Western Australia

Well After a shock lost last week the Bulls were out to prove a point and that they did with a good win over the Warriors..

Batting first Queensland Hit 297 of their 50 overs for the lose of 8 wickets...
M.Hayden Yet again stared for the Bulls with 81 of 70 balls with good support buy M.Love 69 and a quick fire 30 of 19 balls from A.Bichel built that good total

In reply Western Australia were held down to only 245/7 of their 50 overs with the Warriors Allrounders doing all the hard work
With B.Hogg 54 and K.Harvey 70.
The best of the bowlers wereJ.Hopes 3/42 and N.Hauritz 2/53....

Well with the gap back to 4 points the Blues and Mumbai who played last week with the Blues winning in a very ordanary performance are hopeing that the Bulls loose another game and when the blues meet the Bulls in a couple of weeks the Bulls will show that the trophy is comming to Queensland..... :D :D
