Hill for Ranji and Briggs for Rhodes imo. Could pick Billy Murdoch as a keeper too though that's an anachronistic selection. Also Tate > Larwood.

I think Hanif and Lawry were both than Simpson and warrant a place in the XI for that era too.

I wanted to get Herbert Sutcliffe in the 1st team as the 2nd was so stacked with batting. There was no intention to leave Grimmett out, but I thought 100 years was logical.

2000-2018 should be considered as a separate era ( start of WTC,)
2019- present is a separate era.
I'd be tempted to have the career span of Tendulkar as an era. Not to big him up particularly but he arrived towards the back end of the Windies dominance, embodied the superstar cricketer that emerged through the 90s into the 00s and departed as T20 became the dominant form of the game.

I’d go with post 2010 then all them Fab Four and the Fab 3 bowlers are eligible
