Just one of England's centrally contracted players is available for the current round of CC matches - as a Warwickshire fan I'm pleased, but as an England fan I'm confused.

Oh well, at least Harmison has been allowed to play in the NCL, and is taking wickets!

Considering he's been condemned as not a One Day bowler, he's done very well to take 13 wickets @ 19 and a S/R of 22.5 in only 6 games.

Add in the fact he's taken 7-74 in his last 2 and his tail must be up going into the 5th Test...

IMHO i think the only Centrally Contracted players should be fast bowlers kept in cotton wool..

Imagine the situation, a batsman is searching for form (Tres, Vaughan, Smith) and he is being denied a match? Absolutely unbelievable...

Saw Harmison take four wickets tonight, Sussex were absolutely awful though! Although a congrats to him I guess for taking full advantage of it.

AFAIK Smith can play as he's not contracted.

Of the others, Vaughan couldn't be expected to play on a Monday when the Test was still in progress, Tres probably needs a knock, Butch would benefit from a break, and Nasser already has one.

As for Stewy - his zimmer broke down, so best to put in the old folks home and pick him up on Wednesday next week.
