I'll do mine for India in the first test:
Jaiswal: 9.5/10 - More than made up for his first innings duck in scoring volume with a massive hundred opening with a thin lead in a low scoring game against world class bowling. Didn't really give much of an honest chance to the bowlers. The conditions were not easy as he made them look and outscored both 1st innings scores comfortably. All that even without considering it is his first test in these conditions at 22 years of age.
Rahul: 8.5/10 - The only top order batsman who looked like he knew what he was doing in the 1st innings before being unlucky to be sent off after some crucial runs in a low scoring innings. Was an equal partner to Jaiswal in the partnership that decided the match. 103 runs overall the vast majority of which came with the game seriously in the balance.
Padikkal: 3/10 - The only positive contribution is lasting for 71 balls with Jaiswal in the second innings to form a big partnership. Scoring 25 runs across 2 innings still pretty poor though.
Kohli: 8/10 - His 100 felt like vintage Virat Kohli in that he was aggressive through his trademark high quality strike rotation as opposed to a lot of boundaries. It was definitely a downhill ski but he played to those circumstances by not taking too much time to get the runs. Still, awful in the first innings and dropped catches mean I can't rate him higher.
Pant: 5/10 - Crucial first innings knock to get us to 150. Very average keeping effort. Understand his second innings duck considering his intent due to the circumstances and won't knock him too much due to it but can't rate him higher for it as well.
Jurel: 1/10 - Wish him the best of luck in his future endeavors.
Sundar: 6/10 - Solid little contributions in his 29 (94) with Kohli in a 89 run partnership to make the game truly out of reach and his 2 wickets to mop up the tail in the innings. 2/49 for the game for an off spinner in Australia is decent and he did a solid job overall as a bowling all rounder.
Reddy: 7/10 - It's mostly not his fault we don't really have a better idea about his bowling due to how well the other bowlers did. His batting in both innings was excellent, being the top scorer in the first innings scoring nearly a third of the runs and an unbeaten 38 at the end of the second innings hitting the bowlers around the park. 79/1 (86) combined with 1/25 with the ball in your first test is nothing to sneeze at. Still unsure about his selection though.
Bumrah: 10/10 - Decimated the top order in both innings at the dying of the light. His performance made everything go from crisis to vacation for the rest of the team. 5/9 against the top 4 across both innings which should be 6/9 in 32 balls if not for Kohli dropping a sitter. Wisely did not exert himself much on the 4th day with the game mostly decided. 8/72 for the game and correctly, MOTM by a distance.
Siraj: 8/10 - Excellent back up to Bumrah with his unrelenting aggression. Did not let his bad overs effect his rhythm much. Nice to see him where he can have a consistently good economic game in the background without going from one exteme to another with his 5/71 of 32 overs.
Rana: 6.5/10: Solid debut figures of 4/117 in Australia for a pacer, got some very important wickets and bowled a real beauty on the first day. However, easily the most expensive bowler across both innings and gave too many easy runs with little risk to the batsmen. Just about fine for a 3rd pace option but Shami should take his spot soon.
