Qld completed its dismal season by losing both playoff games so it will be division 2 for both forms of the game.

The one day game was harder to swallow. Yorkshire played well and thrashed us. The four day game was no surprise though we got closer than I thought that we would.

The squad will be rebuilt for next season and a gamble on youth will be made. There will be 5 new rookies in the squad due to retirements. Big names will go with Flintoff definitely gone and Love hanging by a thread.

Report..

Well i expected to get through Warwickshire.. and the result was positive.. Hampshire played really well.. and although we would have liked to move to div 3 4d .. we have to stay in div 2 again.. and with fellow teammate Rich building an amazing 4d Kent side.. we hope to atleast do a bit better than last year.. the competition is going to be a lot fierce again and well the shape of the squad should hopefully hold together..
The game was played really well around by Hampshire against Warwickshire something we aimed to do for a long time.. Excelllent Batting and Bowling..
Hampshire would like to thank Warwick Coach Nibblet on a really good game and we hope our fellow English Team will do well in Div3 next year and carry on the English Flag high.. We will surely meet up again in the playoff next year i reckon with me surely going to end up last again :P

Report..

Warwickshires couldn't but hide their saddness as their team crumbled in their biggest match in WCC history. A disapointing defeat, but all is not lost as we look foward to another season in division three.

Thanks to Lord again for thrashing my ass.

Our opposition next season will be pretty much the same Leicester and Glamorgan remaining in the division while, somehow, Worcestershire defeated Western Province. Western Australia drop down from division two, and IMO their a team on a bit of a decline ATM. The real threat comes from the division below in the form of Canterbury. They will be hard a tough challenge.

'Pathetic' Somerset Go Down To Superb Free State

Somerset manager called his side pathetic, but said he gave credit to Neils Free State on a day where Somerset went down by 102 runs, ensuring they end up to division 5 next season.

It was a bowlers track, and Somerset seemed to be doing well in restricting Free State to only 225 runs. But it was Free State who exploited the track brilliantly, rolling over Somerset for only 123. The only resistance that Somerset provided was through Z Thomas, who hit a fighting 53*.

Kerridge said after the game: "Obviously I'm extremely disappointed with how we played today. I thought our batting was pathetic. But I'm not going to discredit Free State, who certainly were the better team. We have remoddelled the team, and are looking foward to getting back to Division 4 in two seasons."

What can I say? I didn't lose! Despite the predictions of the likes of Nibblet:P

I was pretty happy with the way Worcestershire controlled the game, we had a nice first innings lead and ended up 6 down and about 20 short of victory when stumps were pulled.

Grant Flower made us all wonder why he is retiring with a Man of the Match performance.

Yep but unfortunately his Zimmer frame would be a complete hindrance to his batting

The Victorian boys all frounted up for the play off match. To there disbelief Mashonland had failed to turn up. Coach Pearson called WCCC boss GB, and to his disbelief the boys from Zimbabwe were not going to show at all. Vic get to stay in Div 4 with no playoff, all good.

LANCASHIRE v QUEENSLAND (Div 1 relegation/promotion playoff)

Lancashire batted first and put together a disappointing 242 with J.Madanagopal (79) and K.Baumgarner (40) excelling.
M.Kasprowicz (3/63) was the most successful of the home bowlers, with good support from both B.Trott (2/32) and D.MacKenzie (2/38).

E.Kellar made a last minute bid to convince manager GrahamB to retain him in the squad as he ripped through the Queensland batting lineup to see them dismissed for 196 in reply. Only J.Maher (46) stood out as Kellar finished with the magnificent figures of 6/44. S.Harwood (2/35) also bowled well for the visitors.

A wonderful innings of 115 from young opening batsman A.Schiller then anchored a more solid Lancashire batting effort as they amassed 369 in their second innings. E.Kellar backed up his bowling effort with 72no to help rescue his side from a precarious 236/8 as the final 2 wickets added a further 133 runs! Tailenders A.Dale (27) and S.Harwood (29) made up for their lack of success with the ball with their valuable batting contributions. R.Dravid was also prominent with 44.
For the home side, B.Trott (3/32) was under bowled and A.Bichel (3/69) also toiled away well.

Queensland would require 416 for victory or bat out for a draw in order to maintain their Division 1 spot.
A poor start saw them slump to 48/3 before M.Love steadied the sinking ship with a fine knock of 137no. However he lacked support from his fellow batsmen with only A.Flintoff (41) sticking around for long as the Aussies succumbed at 350 all out to secure themselves a Division 2 berth for next season.
Led by M.Rice (4/76) and A.Dale (3/77), the Lancashire bowlers again achieved victory for their side and with it, the sweet reward of top flight FC cricket for next season.

E.Kellar was deservedly named man of the match for his all round efforts, but unfortunately for the young man, he missed the cut for the Lancashire squad retained!

LANCASHIRE - 242 and 369
QUEENSLAND - 196 and 350

Win to Lancashire by 65 runs.
