Opening ceremony seems to be more relaxed than the Olympic version, being held at the Plas de Concorde.

French team already having a party.

The swimming has been great to watch so far.

Obviously expecting NZ to be significantly less successful this time around in Pascoe's absence.

British cyclist/athlete Kadeema Cox, who has also become a bit of a wider celebrity in the UK, had a disaster after she crashed in her cycling final. She's already out of the athletics due to an ivory and was helped off the cycling track in tears. Sounds like she's having a rough time all round too

Didn't realise David Weir is still going. Saw him win a gold at London in 2012, which was an amazing experience.

Heat of 6, 5 go through. Seems like a bit of a redundant race to me

Another silver for Aitchison - a bit of a shame she couldn't go one better than Tokyo, but that was a heck of a race to watch. Great two-way battle.

The final was a tactical affair with Hug having to lead the whole way as no one would take it off him, then much like in the men's middle distance at enyd Olympics an American came from nowhere to take gold on the home straight.

Why are we so good at Paralympic sports? And why are the US not?
Record day for GB with 12 golds. I get the sense Paralympic sport is just higher profile over here since London, building on a long history of success in the Paralympics beforehand. (Even though London was something of a low point for ParalympicGB)

That the US are so poor, relatively, says a lot about American society really.

And the 100m was more of the same. Amazing rivalry between those two.
