*Official* Zimbabwe in Bangladesh (Test Series)

The bits of this game did seem to offer more to the quicks than your stereotypical Bangladeshi wicket, which may have been a double-edged sword by bringing the Zimbabwe quicks into the game
I'm alright with us playing on a fast wicket in Sylhet against Zimbabwe FWIW. In theory, it'll prepare the batters for foreign conditions, and we should still be expected to beat Zimbabwe at home even if it's on a deck that suits their strengths. It's relevant that we also have quicks that we can deploy on such a deck. The fact that we ****ed up is an indictment of us and very much to Zimbabwe's credit.

Whenever England are playing next in Bangladesh, (probably in about 50 years lol), they’ll be well-served to revert to rank turners, but in the meantime, they may well accept their poor form at home in exchange for good results in Pakistan and the West Indies
I don't want us putting out proper rank turners ever again really. Just a standard Bangladeshi featherbed that offers something to the spinners without making a mockery of the game should be enough of an advantage.

Decks like that also offer an opportunity to rack up decent first innings totals, which the embarrassingly subpar batsmen in our current lineup desperately need.

We should probably avoid playing England on a fast deck at Sylhet though.

As we saw with Pakistan, rank turners can add a level of randomness to a game which might not necessarily be to the home team’s favour, but, Duckett and Root aside, England are so pathetic at playing spin and not exactly brimming with talent with the ball that you’d be foolish not to make an exception for us IMO!

Blessing certainly has the quality to surpass Heath Streak, but certainly hasn't done it so far. Taking wickets against Ireland, Bangladesh and Afghanistan won't get you there. When he has played more against the top teams, then you can make a proper comparison.
As for the 11 matches in 8 years, it's partly his own fault combined with the fact Zimbabwe play less tests. Zimbabwe has played about 20 tests since his debut. He has missed some of them due to getting dropped/injury.
Anyway, proclaiming him the GOAT Zimbabwe bowler can hold on till he plays the top sides. For now, we voted him in the Zim all time Xi recently. That's credit enough.

Madhevere doing decently too recently with bat and ball. He will be crucial if they need to do well in future. Rooting for the zimbos to get an upset win over England at England, especially with Raza also back.

Glad to hear Raza will play against England rather than for the Florida Super Kings in the Yank T10 or something lol

As much as I’d love to see a strong Zim performance in England the best they can hope for is catching the Eng top order unawares on the first morning. You only have to watch the batsmen for fifteen minutes or so to see how they will struggle against the moving ball. Bennett did very well in the first test but he barely moves his feet, he’ll be a sitting duck opening in England. Welch and Curran both failed in county cricket for a reason, Wes, Williams and Ervine have barely played there (as far as I know never played club cricket in England). Raza has but only in white ball.
