Klopp's disdain for the league cup is just another reason he's great. Of course it used to cause outrage amongst the when he's going to win something crowd, but he's so good that he just gave them a European Cup and a soon to be Premier League title instead.

I get the sense you are thinking too hard about this

just remmeber, there are more important things to have existential crises about than the selection of blokes a funny german man sends out to run around a field for 90 mins
I'm just passing an opinion on football as per this being a forum thread about football. A bit like feeling the necessity to pass water when entering Wales. Neither will spoil my day.

Arteta it is then. Hope it goes well. But if you put a gun to my head and asked if we'd end up regretting going for him over Carlo I'd probably say yes.

"After struggling to fully assert their dominance, the reds scored in the dying moments to snatch the win"- every Liverpool match report this season (except yesterday's).

At the game. Not sure which is more embarrassing - the atmosphere or Matic. Jesus you get a completely different view at the ground

(At least for the first half, second half is all in the corporate suite on cheese and wine. **** getting cold for this)

That Liverpool team today didn't even give a pretence of taking the game seriously

I mean not that I care especially, they can play whatever players they like afaic

But it always strikes me as odd when a stronger team is put out in an earlier round

I mean, if you don't care about the comp, why make sure you advance to a latter stage before you totally jack it in
In fairness they tried to go out in the last round, but you know, Arsenal.

According to Bild:

Xhaka has told his teammates he will be leaving Arsenal. Xhaka has told his teammates about his move, he could be in the Bundesliga soon.

Looks like Ozil's Arsenal career is finished. Disappointing.
He's been one of my favourite players for yonks but his race here is run. Who are the takers though? I've seen Fenerbache but that would mean us subsidising his wages for a long time.

Auba apparently demanding out as well.

Arteta really going to have his work cut out for him.

Still, in spite of all this. I am actually quite excited to see how it goes.

Yeah, agreed.

But yeah, the papers over here reporting that a loan to Fener is basically a done deal.

I like Arteta too but this is a ridiculously tough job he has on his hands and will need time and proper backing.

Apparently his staff at the moment is Leon Osman as assistant with Freddie, Rosicky and Tony Hibbett which seems rather inexperienced.

Tragic thing is Arsenal are going to have to go through their second rebuild. If you look at the team that won the 2017 FA Cup, it's already totally different. Özil, Xhaka, Bellerin and Holding are the only players still here from the squad for that final. We're basically United circa 15/16.

Announcement coming five minutes apparently.

Edit: Wait I misread. That's when he's signing the contract supposedly.

Normally I would have some sympathy for what's happened to Özil and his views on China, but it's a bit rich for someone who's been happy to pose for photos with Erdogan (and even invited him to his wedding) to then start crying about human rights abuses elsewhere.
