Two Zimbabweans who still deserve to be playing international cricket is something of importance. They are standing up and saying we are not retired. Even though it doesnt matter much to Mugabe, but lets not get into that.

Davies finishing that innings with 6.1-5-4-3, tail-ender decided to get run out rather than improve Davies' figures even more. Totally incredibly figures for the season - it's like stats you'd see from players of 50-100 years ago.

Don't forget Sean Ervine and Greg Lamb at Hampshire, Ray Price at Worcs, Travis Friend at Derby. I am really, really happy for Grant and Andy, but they aren't going to play tests again (all the more for Essex) but maybe sometime in the future you'll see Sean Ervine or Big Trav take 8-45 and score a hundred against Zimbabwe. What a day that will be! (Although very unfair on the Zimbabwean cricketers)

Congrats to both Flowers on getting centuries.
Ouch, they did it at the expense of Jimmy Anderson. 36 overs in one innings wicketless. Guess he won't be allowed to use the underbowled argument anymore.

Is he just another bowler who's worked out how to be a success at County level, or is he actually an International chance?

If a genuine medium pacer ever had any significant level of success at international level again, I'll be absolutely floored. It's just not penetrative enough when the wickets aren't offering help.

If he can bat a bit though, he could certainly be useful in ODIs.

There haven't exactly been that many medium pace bowlers of late (as opposed to part-timers) in county cricket anyway - especially ones that have been as successful as he has. Anyway I still haven't seen the guy play, so I couldn't even confirm that he is medium pace.

I wasn't necessarily meaning a medium pacer, more someone like a Saggers who picks up truckloads every year in CC because he's learnt what he needs to do to get batsmen of that standard out.

Well he seems to miss games almost alternately anyway (I assume it's because he's injured, can't see him being dropped), so that would seem to limit his international chances for a start.

Kent look like they will take on Surrey, bowled them out just about Tea need 230 to win in about 2 hours, after 5 overs already going along at 6 an over... should be an intresting finish to what looked to be a dead certain draw.

Brilliant win for hampshire today looked very bad untill Maschernhas took out the sussex middle order too win a match that i think was there most important of the season as a defeat would have left them very close too the relagation zone. They have managed too win yet again without any sort of decent top order thanks too the bowling and good performances from Pothas and Watson

Need twenty in about five minutes - that should equate to eleven balls, because cricinfo says 32.1 overs at the moment, so I think they'll squeeze in another over. Excitement...

Edit: Make that 19 off 7. Sounds impossible.

Edit again: Kent get another over - 232/6 at the end of the 34th. Now need three to win off five.

And success - Justin Kemp finally does something productive!
Impressive stuff

Good to see Fults go for the win, he is generally good for making a game of things and as Neil said Kemp finally has a match of note!

Funny though how Kent are soooo bad in the One Day games, yet get them to chase 230 in 34 overs and it's a piece of cake! 8-)

With Glamorgan up next hopfully we can build up a big lead, before a difficult run to the line

Derby have a chance of winning after following on, Durham need 314 to beat them thanks to Di Venuto, "Hassan Hundred" Adnan, Big Travis Friend and Welch. Good luck to them tomorrow, I reckon they have a big chance.

Don't go upsetting Scaly Piscine now. He doesn't think that Derbyshire have a right to be on the same field as Durham, let alone kick their bottys (again). Mind you, we must be due a win - we get one every couple of years regular as clockwork.
