*Official* Champions Trophy Discussion

The ICC has announced the groupings and format of the upcoming Champions Trophy.

Format:

- 4 groups, with 3 teams each, participating in round robin play.
- The top 2 teams from each group will advance and be placed in two groups of 4.
- The top 2 teams from each group will advance to the semifinals.

The Cricket Web XI will compete in the relatively weak group C, containing England and Bangladesh. The World Cup runners-up will therefore expect to advance comfortably to the second round.

Group A appears to be the keenest of the bunch, with South Africa, New Zealand, and World Cup Champions, the West Indies.

We`re in a damn good group, really should go through, we`ve got it over England, and Bangladesh are Bangladesh. Only two games in the initial stage however, so no slip-ups. Should be great.

Venue Announced

The ICC has confirmed that the Champions Trophy will be held in England. In conditions sure to test the Cricket Web XI, it should present some fascinating cricket for all involved. The schedule is soon to be announced.
