As a contest, it's been absolutely breathtaking. Now how did I cornily describe it in the match report?

Ah, yes.

Yes I agree it's been great cricket and very enjoyable to watch but I find it amazing that a century still hasn't been scored.

well i didn't see much of the game last night as i was out at a party and went to bed pretty soon after i got home, but from what ive seen over the last 2 test matches i would like to see this side for the next test

M Hussey
J Langer
R Ponting*
D Martyn
M Clarke
S Katich
A Gilchrist (wk)
S Warne
B Lee
S Tait
S Macgill

if McGrath is fit get rid of Lee who has been bowling rubbish unintelligently. Macgill must play for mine, the english batsmen have proven the really arn't much good at facing legspin, and though Macgilla is a different type of leg spin i reakon that he would still have alot of success against them.

Brett Lee has been crap, as have Kaspa and Gillespie, give them a spell till they learn to bowl again. Tait coming in to the side adds an unknown element as the English batsmen haven't seen too much of him.

Matthew Hayden has been batting poorly for a long time now, his average for his last 15 tests is under 40, closer to 30 in his last 10, which, while not being that bat in terms of international cricket shouldn't be enough to keep Hussey out of the side for mine.

ofcourse none of this will happen as the selectors will pick exactly the same side for the next test unless McGrath is fit or its a turner.
1. I do think the selectors will persist with Hayden for the rest of the series but if its 2-2 going into the Oval they could well & bring in Hussey.

2. You cant be serious about Lee, his poor bowling performace in the 1st innings was mainly due to when he realised that their was no swing their for him he just couldn't get it together, but he got it together pretty well in the 2nd innings.

3. I dont think MacGill should play unless McGrath is playing for me that too risky, i know Dizzy hasn't been great all tour but he showed great signs in the 1st test that he's close to getting back to his best. Kasper i'm not sure about him i would go for Tait has u said England wouldn't have seen much of him & with his awkard action he could be hard to pick up. Edwards & Malinga two other young bowlers who have equally slingy actions proved to be difficult on their respective debuts so ya never know what Tait could do.

4. Australia need to look at their batting seriously i dont like how they have been getting out to some poor shots in these past two tests very disappointing

5. I change my view on the series result from 4-1 to 3-2 Australia. England haven't won the ashes since 89 but based on they way England have played in this test i'm pretty sure the Ashes will be England at least by 2009.

Where are Vic Othodox and Mister Wright when you really need them?

Straight + fast + no 4 balls = test quality in anyone's language.
Yes, but how does that relate to Brett Lee?

Dodgy for Australia yeah.

He got 20 more runs than he was entitled to, as he was out on 0.
So after all your whinging about Warne getting a bad deal, you fail to moan when he gets one in his favour...

Dear God, what a ball! Bell didn't do much wrong there. Second-best ball of the match!
At least Bell has shown with that 20 that those calling for his head are premature.

If England lose this test I'm afriad the Ashes are gone. England are not going to win 3 tests in a row against this side.
I'd be tempted by the odds on them winning Tests 3 and 4 to be honest.

Sums up some (not all) of the Aussies when they're losing on this forum.
That's actually exactly how you sound when England get out.

It's the pot calling the kettle black. Now that you realise how annoying it is, can you stop doing it too?
