By my count that’s 6 times Khawaja has been dropped from the Test side. Pretty tough in a Test career of less than 24 matches but I can understand why. He’s got the same issue as Garry Balance in that when he struggles he looks absolutely awful and it’s so demoralising for the rest of the batting lineup (and confidence building for the opposition) that you can’t really afford it, especially for a No. 3.

Yeah I'm a big fan of his but I can't justify him being in the team in the sub-continent.

Also the fact that both have very obvious weaknesses, Ballance's in his defence and Khawaja against spin.

Why are Australia picking three specialist off-spinners when they already have someone in Maxwell who can bowl off-spin? I’ve never seen Swepson bowl but surely for variety’s sake at the very least you’d want him bowling instead.

Swepson is entirely there for the experience. And off spinners tend to have an easier time in the sub continent than leg spinners.

Dropping Usman the correct decision ultimately but geez he's been treated like **** by the selectors.

Can't call Agar and O'Keefe off spinners though.

Once they sent him over I knew he'd play. They wouldn't swallow their pride like that just to have him running drinks.
