I'm going to guess Australia A is losing again
I would bring it up either way. If we lose It's a solid excuse, if we win it makes us look even better.

It's entirely factual regardless

Edit: btw did you miss my extensive list of Australia's current bowling stocks which demonstrates conclusively that this is at best an 8th XI and if NZ A don't win by an innings and 300 runs they are the moral losers

Hay fractured his wrist, fletcher is keeping but not batting, but seems like we might not need the additional batter anyway

Bruce really stepping up as captain of NZA. There is some genuine competition for test spots now with Young, Foxcroft and Bruce.
Yeah watched a few overs on SS3, funny the Aussie commentators perplexed about how he hasn't played a Test for NZ citing his FC average of 48.

About the performance I'd have expected from this bowling attack. Disappointed Kuhnemann hasn't got a couple though I don't think conditions are good for finger spin. Dwarshius and Hatcher aren't FC standard and it's showing.

It's kind of insane how settled the middle order has been over the past decade. Munro too averaging 51 and could only manage a single test. I guess Sinclair was in the same boat a decade before also averaging 48 but couldn't get a regular place, although he was perhaps more of a top order option than Bruce.

Ashok has been pretty poor so far with bat at senior level. Hopefully can still become a good #9.

And they're right, hey. Henry Nicholls, I know his last innings was a double century but that really just makes it worse in that it gives justification for his continued selection.

Tbf, I think Phillips is deservedly ahead of Bruce in the queue. Bruce's best hope might lie in Mitchell losing form - but even then, given how much credit Mitchell has in the bank - and the conservative nature of the selection group - he'd probably have to wait until the 2024/25 season at the earliest for a shot.

Who are the commentators by the way? They seem very even-handed. I know Bryce McGain is one. I think he was particularly impressed with Will O'Rourke, saying he was moving it both ways at good pace.
