Abuse England Here!

Okay, what happened. Some unknown (to me anyway) gets 114 off 81 balls, then we bat like amateurs and not even the Under 13 'B's bowl as many wides as Steve Harmison.

Ah well.. only a warm up.... :(!

I wouldn't worry Neil, its only a fun-match & it would have been good for the players to get a run around the park despite losing.

The two matches against Western Australia at the WACA would be a good indicator of where England are in terms of preparation.

Someone's gotta become the next Chris Broad/David Gower.......become the backbone of the batting and then England can take it from there.

*Cough* R.Key *Cough* :D

I don't get how you bowl 7 wides in a row, any normal person after about 2 maybe 3 at a push, would just bowl a slow delivery just to make sure he got it in the right area....

Anyway Neil things get only get better from here, right? :(

Unfortunatley NO Rich....
GB this is England's Master Plan... It all started about 25 years ago where we play pants for 25 years to make you think we are bad, but them come the Ashes in your own backyard we start to play like we can and then destory you..... :D

umm do you buy it, was it convincing enough????

I can see 3 potential candidates for that role amongst the established players, but I seem to remember Broad wasn't a regular before his tour?

According to Nasser, he was bowling a good line for what they want in the Tests, and he told him to keep to it.

Be fair though, the lad was concussed!

Yes Tresco is the one that I think fits the bill. But from the new guys can Robert Key do it ? ...he is not a regular but probably will be one in this Ashes.I don't know how good is this guy.

Neil: That was Kade Harvey who got 114 and he's been a regular for WA in their one-day team for a long time as an allrounder but more of a bowler, believe it or not. I've never thought of him as explosive in any way so I was surprised he scored so quickly.

As for Harmison, well he'd better tighten up if he wants to get the Aussies out. 7 wides in a row is just disgraceful.

i saw his run up on the news last night, he looked like he was a bit deformed...
One of the weirdest actions i've seen for a while...

He is a bug guy but seems to cramp himself up...

Key was the one I was thinking of potentially. The 3rd one is Vaughan of course.

I am not able to figure out why England players get injured all the time. I heard Hussain that is because of the amount of cricket played. But when compared to other countries they play less

Harmison models himself on a West Indian pacer and has a similer action to that of most West Indians. The 7 wides in a row can be excused by the bad bump he got early in the match and also that the margins for wides in OD games are much tighter than in tests, Harmison keeps the ball outside off stump so its not surprising he's being wided in a OD game.

Yeah but think about it playing less can be just as bad as playing to much... For someone who hasn't played in a while to come in a bowl 30 overs in a match is going to do as much damage.

They play a lot more cricket - 18 teams in First Class Cricket and loads of one day knockabouts - there's barely a day off in the summer.

Fair enough that he keeps the ball outside off stump but please explain why the majority of wides were down the leg side....
