I feel that Andrew Jones and Ewen Chatfeld are overrated.

Would rather have Oram's explosive batting (at his peak, he averaged over 40 for a period of 50 matches) and his bowling would be as economical as Chats' when you compare their eras.

Bruce Taylor is a good call, however.

Possible changes i'd consider would be Fleming in for Donnelly because his leadership skills and his accomplishments far outweigh MDs. Brendon McCullum in for Ian Smith would be fair i suppose. He does drop a bit because of his t20 style play but he was always good with the gloves and was most likely a better bat than Smith.

I think we all know Vettori's bowling wouldn't be good enough for an all time eleven and Cairn's seam bowling would be more effective.

^ Top side that Mike, although surely McCullum did enough prior to giving the gloves away to edge-out Smith & as much as I like Reid I'd have Vettori ahead of him if nothing else for the balance of the attack.

Ian Smith's batting would be very suitable for T20s as well, so criticising McCullum for that would be a bit unfair.

Taylor's already done enough in ODI's to be rated above Fleming for mine & Chat's ahead of Mills.

I don't mean in terms of suitability but the mentality behind McCullum's batting. Seems like a ****wit a lot of the time. I agree he's probably too good to leave out.

Yeah, Fleming probably faced better attacks with a prime Lee, Donald, McGrath etc which would dent his stats but it's a fair call to place Taylor ahead of Fleming batting-wise. Haven't seen much of Chats.

Would be cool to do an all time eleven for Auckland, CD, Canterbury etc.

Yeah agree with most of this. Thats a pretty good team.

I forgot about Mills in my ODI team. I would have him ahead of Chats, as long as he doesn't bowl after over 35 FFS.

Looks good.

I'd definitely take Mills over Chats. Equally good bowlers, but Chats was a terrible fielder and an even worse batsman.

EDIT: Might even take Geoff Allott over Mills.

lack of dougeh surprising tbh
Only played four Tests. Give him another ten Tests and he'll be taking Cowie's place. ;)
