New Academy news

The Argonaut

State Vice-Captain
To all Academy managers

Simon has stood down from organising the academy due to other commitments and I have deceided to take it on again. I will be working towards starting the season on the weekend of May 7-8. There will be weeks during the season where I will be unable to run the games due to work commitments. I will let you know about these in advance (first will be weekend of 21-22 May). Teams will need to be in by Friday morning.

What I need from you guys is your starting XIs for 4 day and 1 day games as well as the pitch conditions (scale of 10 for pace, movement and spin) and bowling orders. If you could put these into this thread by early next week. Failure to lodge pitch conditions will mean that I will choose random ones for you.

All the best

Jason

Thanks Chaminda for putting those links in. With that information I now have info for

Bangkok, Buenos Aires (except bowling order), Edinburgh, Nairobi, Ottawa, Windhoek

For the guys who put their info in ages ago and want to change please do so in this thread.

The email address I was given for the Singapore manager didn't work so if Brett can put his email address on this thread that would be great.

As Marc said once the bowling order is locked in that's in. You are free to selct whatever XI you like. I just need your first choice teams in case someone forgets to put their side in. I will also lock in the pitch conditions for the season as it's one less thing for me to worry about.

One pitch conditions i noticed that most guys have really high numbers for most areas. I gather that is because we play 4 day matches and therefore the pitches need to be more bowler friendly to get results. If you have high numbers what the chances of getting 300 plus scores.

Also on bowling orders is it what order you want your bowlers to bowl or in order of which bowlers you want to bowl when. Using the example of the Sri Lanka team if it was in order of most overs it would be something like this:
1. Murali
2. Vass, Malinga
3. Zoysa, Dilhara, Nissanka
4. Chandana, Herath
5. Jayasuriya
6. Dilshan, Samawerra

If it is in order of when you want to bowl it would be something like this:
1. Vass, Malinga
2. Zoysa, Dilhara, Nissanka
3. Murali
4. Chandana, Herath
5. Jayasuriya
6. Dilshan, Samawerra

I was just wondering which one it is meant to be 'most overs' and which order you want them to bowl.

Ash, good luck with Bangkok, obviously they're the best 4D side going around (as I was their old manager ;))

1D is nothing man.. nothing. 4D is the dealio
Well when it comes to WCC, there is two 1Day titles, the championship and the cup and only one 4 day title.

But Academy is different as their only one for each, i think i'll be competitive in each, but i'm not sure how strong the other teams. Im not worried about your old team anyway, their in the South Div and im in North.

1D is nothing though. You could have 50 1D titles, it would still be nothing :p
Ahh, so i guess you have another strong 4D team and a weak 1D team, i rather have two competitive sides especially in Academy. Academy is all about learning not nessary winning, i'll leave that to when i get into the main comp.

We need more Robertinho's in WCC!

*Looks at 4D division one favourites tag on his team* :p

pffft people who concentrate on 1 form IMO cannot call their team quality....

The REAL challenge is to develop a team that can compete in ALL forms!!!!!!!

The number denotes the order in which they bowl so the second example is correct. On pitch conditions, it's up to each manager to pick something that suits his team. Draws are not too prevalent in the 4d games though they can occur.
