Monty Noble's got a stand named after him at the SCG, so he gets my vote.

By this formula-

Ted Dexter=0.5378954956

Monty Noble gets some disadvantage as his performance is not way better than others in his team.
Noble's batting average of 30.25 vs Team's batting average (except him) of 27.32
And Noble's Bowling average of 25 vs Team's Bowling average (except him) of 26.22 looks ordinary.

Ted Dexter was just a part timer with the ball so his position is justifiable.

Guess Trevor Goddard has much more balanced stats as an All rounder.

Well, I don't disagree at all. 5 wickets in an inning, 10 wickets in a match, 50's, 100's should have been brought into account, but I'm just lazy.

But stats are all I can judge them by (and maybe peer rating), I didn't see them play!

Though that is true, I think he overachieved with the bat (compared to his FC record).....Also played in much high scoring matches.
In the matches he played, his batting average was 47, while his team's batting average was 36.
His away record is very good tho. I didn't take that into account.

I wouldn’t say being better than the average batter and average bowler in your side is ordinary at all re: Noble.


But yeah at test level its borderline at best to call Dexter an allrounder. He’s like Hammond lite.

He would be very high because of playing in a very weak team.

Jadeja would not benefit much as he is a worse batter than an average batter in his side and barely a better bowler.

Jadeja's batting average of 35.72 vs 38.69 for rest of the team, bowling average of 24.14 vs 26.86 for rest of the team.
