Match #47- Super Eights, Bangladesh vs India (D), Sir Vivian Richards Cricket Stadium, Antigua-- June 22nd- Group 1

Do India supporters like Harsha Bhogle? He's such an insufferable Indian cheerleader.

Ravi Shastri and Gavaskar can be cheerleaders too but at least they played test cricket.

They have some runs on the board to back it up.

I also forgot that cricket is one of those sports where if the match time says 10:30 it actually starts at 10:30, with the pre-match stuff coming before 10:30. I forgot to tune in until 10:26 so I missed the toss, Bangladesh's national anthem, half of India's national anthem, and the commentators talking about conditions.

Bhogle's a loud and overeager dork but he can string together a sentence in English with flowery metaphors which is enough for most Indians. But really, they're all junk. Not one decent comm out of India.

There should be an asterisk, job security is key for these guys. They aren't good researchers, they are merely parrots.

Most of the ones from the West Indies, Samuel Badree, Nikhil, and Carlos. Daren Ganga is another parrot.
Yes, couldn't put names to some of the Windian comms this WC but I've liked their measured, analytical tones. Then again they have such a strong role model in Bish; you'd be wary of sounding like an idiot in his wake.

Growing up, when we couldn't watch games on the Tv, there was Fazeer Mohammed who was a perfection at calling plays. We appreciate the beauty of the game and see how this is translated to our guys on the TV now.

I love Samuel Badree in tests when he's commentating. His red ball game was decent.

Shastri is pretty good, I like his commentary, he is more fluent in English than most Indian players even going back to his playing days.

He isn't afraid to criticise India and their players too unlike a lot of other Indian commentators and he also has a good sense of humour.
