Match #42- Super Eights, West Indies vs England (N), Darren Sammy Cricket Stadium, Saint Lucia-- June 19th- Group 2

Amidst a lineup brimming with energy, Gudakesh Motie's left-arm spin may seem like the quiet kid in class, but as England realized last December - with seven wickets at an average of 11.85 to show for it - his crafty bowling can slam the brakes on even the most dynamic teams, especially those heavy on right-handers like England. Facing off against Jos Buttler's squad in Grenada, Motie spun a web with figures of 1 for 9 in four overs, and then upped the ante with 3 for 24 in the series finale in Trinidad. Bowling round the wicket and straightening deliveries might not look like rocket science, but give Motie a whisper of help from a weary St Lucia pitch, and he'll turn it into a spinner's playground.

Should be the highest scoring game of the WC so far with WI having scored 218 here a few days ago vs AFG

Very clever of the hosts to schedule themselves 2 games in a row using the same pitch 😉

I’ll be very surprised if England win this game.
I'm not sure what to expect here tbh. I do think this game will give a good indication if Eng are serious contenders for this cup or going to make a limp exit during this super 8's.

Fun fact: England are the only Super 8 team that hasn't beaten a seeded team this WC, may this glorious run continue 😀

Windies have smashed 3 teams when batting first, but struggled chasing against PNG.

England win toss and put WI in 😀
