Ironic, since TNS offered to have a 1 game play-off with Liverpool with the winner going into the CL.

At least if they win the CL next year they can say they did it the hard way.

But I bet this wouldn't of happened if PSV had won it and came 4th in their domestic league.

Actually, then AZ would have been given a spot as the third Dutch side...

Rephase that, you have lost me there.
PSV would have qualified directly for the group stage, as cup holder. Assuming Ajax finished first and AZ second, then Ajax would have qualified for the group stage as Dutch champion, and AZ for the third qualifying round as Dutch second team.

I think.

But what I'm saying is that if it was PSV, that wouldn't of happened as they would have been in the UEFA Cup.

Nope, as CL winner they would have qualified directly. That's in the rules, always has been.

but the Liverpool situation was clouded by Uefa's insistence on maximum 4 teams from one country. This doesn't matter in the dutch situation

Kazakh football is the proverbial, I'm afraid...wouldn't put it past Artmedia to win, though
I just want Celtic to have a 7000-mile return trip to Almaty.
