MELBOURNE, Jan 24 (- A park cricketer on the New South Wales south coast was killed during a match on Saturday by a lightning strike, Australian Associated Press (AAP) reported.
The 31-year-old batsman collapsed at the crease after lightning struck the pitch at the Artie Smith Oval at Bomaderry, just north of Nowra, AAP said. He was pronounced dead on arrival at hospital.
A 39-year-old man and his 13-year-old son, who were fielding in the game, were also injured. The father had minor burns and his son suffered dizzy spells and shoulder pain.
