These two are probably competing for seventh greatest Asian cricketer
Who are the top 6?

My top 6 would be (not necessarily in order)

Imran
Murali
Sachin
Gavaskar
Sanga
Wasim

I'd put Miandad in 7th.

I think Kapil and Waqar are competing with Dravid, Ashwin, and Shakib for 8th.

International Captain
1) Imran
2) Tendulkar
3) Murali
4) Gavaskar
5) Wasim
6) Waqar
7) Dravid
8) Sangakkara
9) Kapil
10) Miandad.

Waqar should maybe be 8th because he didn't sustain a top level for as long as Dravid/Sangakkara even accounting for bowlers being afforded greater leniency on longevity.

I think Waqar is comfortably 7 and Kapil is number 8. Dravid and Miandad at 9 and 10.

Waqar was the best bowler in the world for a good five years

Did very well against WI home and away too tho. Looking at the highlights no one would've done well against what he dished out to NZ at the time. Wasted on Hartland, Young etc but maybe those guys look worse than they were because they had to face Waqar a lot. But yeah he wasn't the best in the world for 5 years because Ambrose exists though he was definitely either #1 or #2 for most of the early 90s. Think him and Ambrose share the spoils equally in the test rankings.

To me this poll is ultimate showing that worldclass players will be generally well rated ahead of all-rounders who may be technically close to their value if you add the sum of their parts.
