International Captain
Imran Khan > Shakib al Hasan as allrounders

Hobbs' batting = Shakib al Hasan's batting

And given that Hobbs only took 1 Test wicket at an average of 165, therefore Imran is comfortably a greater cricketer than Hobbs. QED.

The fact that you keep proving my point with your posts...

Only two test cricketers are better than Imran, and Hobbs(as much as it pains me to vote against him) isn’t one of them.

There's apparently an entire new subsect of cricket "fans" that not only have no respect for the history of the game, but no knowledge of it either.

I think you're one of the most logical posters and one of the best in general, even in areas I disagree in.

I would disagree with this one as well, by the accumulative numbers ratings, Kallis is right up there as well.

Guys like McGrath and Hobbs have mastered their primary skills to a degree where I personally think takes precedence, but apparently that's just me.

There’s a certain poster who unironically believes Hobbs = Shakib in batting ability. This is just an parody of that unless I’m way off base.
Oh I thought some alien took me in their spaceship and brought me to a parallel universe where Shakib is the best batsman since Bradman.

Do you count Imran's captaincy?

Hobbs' numbers can't be fully trusted IMO. We shouldn't rate him so high because of English press.

Hobbs was born in the 19th century. Are we seriously going to rate him this high because he succeeded when the game was still in the process of becoming a professional sport?

We can ceremonially call him England's best bat and all but we are kidding ourselves if we can trust his numbers with any degree of certainty.

Place him in the bottom half of the top 10 cricketers ever so we have at least one Englishman.
