not picking on anyone in particular, just one of the better teams:

OD for example

Karna:
Batting averages: 44, 42, 49, 41, 38

Bowlers SR's: 24, 26, 24, 23, 29, 23 - now Brett Lee's Real life SR is 27 in ODI's and thats brilliant, and almost all of Karnakatas are undre that

now my boys (colts):
Batting averages: 55, 30, 41, 38, 46, 43 (and rookies at 41, 42 and 49)

bowler SR's: 32, 26, 25, 31

Mumbai:

Batting: 60, 48, 48, 42, 42, 40

Bowling SR's: 27, 28, 30, 28, 25

and it goes on wth heaps of other teams like, kent, NSW, WA (Batting), SA, Surrey, Lancs, WP, Cant etc

yeah i agree. i think Gb is going to have to start toneing down the averages in rookies. i mean i love my 50 1d and 59 4d rookie but i mean he is unrealistically good. sure they coem around. but now almost every team has 2 or 3 of those types of players:rolleyes:. things r good for teh time being. but i think the mext lot of rookies we get should have averages around 20-40max and strike rates atleast above 30 1d and 40 4d. otehrwise things just start to get out of hand. and the talent pool is equal with every1 having a sensational team.

The only problem I have is that I think in a few seasons, 40 will be the norm for batsmen. In real life there are not that many players with that kind of skill. However, I can't see the point in changing it. The thing that might concern is if the really really good batsmen, like Allen and Darden, got stupidly good, taking their averages up to 70+. That would be unrealistic.

I will speak to Sriram and see how easy it could be to edit the rookie generator to make it less likely that rookies with great averages....

The thing about rookies should be corrected in the WCC Sim.
It was just that vc preferred rookies atleast in the 1 day form of the game.As ppl can see from the sim results rookies and older good players will play very much on par in the sim.
I think it should be challenging for all the managers since experience is important. If they set up a team of old stars then they could win 1 season handsomely and then go the NSW way with retirements.Everyone will have to balance out their teams with youth and experience just as in real life!

BTW the sims coming along pretty well with weather (rain),pitch conditions now added.4 day sim is almost complete and 1 day part is coming along very well.

I thought you were more concerned with players like Allen and Darden getting too good?

Is that not the same thing... if they are getting better they are becoming unrelistic and therefore never going to drop their avg (or at least not by much)

Afterall in real life can anyone match WCC figures? I can think of alot of 50+ bats already and more to come with the rookies.

It keeps happening that people ignore what you say, then agree if someone else says it.

Maybe it's you?!
