I'd like to see some information on it, I haven't been able to find anything other than what's on CW. I don't expect to see major changes, seeing as it's apparently slated for release in less than a month. Either they plan on doing a fairly simple update of ICC2002, or they've managed to keep it under wraps very well.
I think its a bit of both, mainly a 2002 update, with a tiny bit of new stuff, like 20/20, put in... so it has been kept under wraps pretty well, but its not exactly been a major project thats been impossible to hide (remember outside of here, cricket games arnt that major, so news isnt really being searched out on them by reporting agencies)
As i said on the other thread, i reckon its gonna have a few small changes, like improved 6's, spinners reajusted, Scotland in NL, current kolpak players sorted (no programming for future ones though).... bit of code change to allow for 20/20, and also for the world cup to work correct....
Then if this sells well, i'd guess at an ICC 3 next summer which'll be more indepth, with more than one nations leagues included, ICC Trophey, more in depth player developments (ie U19 international teams)....
Obviously i'm speculating wildly on an ICC3.... but thinking about it, they've seen how popular cricket has become over the past couple of years, Cricket 2005 and its predecessors have all sold well, as will Brian Lara..... ICC is sorta the Football (nee Championship) Manager of cricket games, and the CM/FM franchise is probably the most successfull in sports games ever...... Also theres some interest in making a cricket manager game, MVCM and the Rockingham one show theres a field for it... ICC has the name and the reputation, so it'd be easy pickings to muscle in on it.
They've got together an ICC team at kinda short notice (we think!!) this summer, ICC 2005 is a good trail run, let them get used to making the game, as well as giving empire some income to finance the team untill their next release.....
So i shall be buying 2005, hoping my moneys going to make an ICC 3
