Lillee is arguably a top 10 bowler, No way Botham is better with that disastrous 2nd half.
last 15 tests really, after the rib injury in Australia in 86 that was that for him, though, I think I put great value in all rounders.

Why? What did Lillee lack skillwise to not warrant that comparison?

Hadlee himself took Lillee as his skill standard.
Skillwise, he's better than McGrath.

A tearaway at the begining of his career, then reduced his pace and turned into a craftsman. Could swing and seam the bowl both ways, had cutters in his armory; very similar to Hadlee.

The only weakness in Lillee's record is the lack of surface credentials in the subcontinent. He was unfortunate to never tour India. I have no doubt he would have done well with a sufficient amount of opportunities.
