I would like some help...

Well so far Kent batting in the 4Day arena has been well pathetic. I was just wondering if i could get some help with the make up of their batting order, so i can hopefully get more runs out of them. I think our biggest problem is that we don't have many guys that average over 45/50 compared to other sides and some of the guys that go haven't played many games. Well this is my 1st XI, taking in account the injury to Hemp:

NT Khan (Bat 36.55)
J Singh (Bat 37.5, WK)
A Muzumbar (Bat 53)
A Christain (Bat 52.41)
D Richards (Bat 53)
M Jenkins (Bat 44.76)
R Stratton (Bat 42.3, S/R 42.88)
L French (Bat 41.2)
R Olney (Bat 33.7, S/R 38.5)
Z Butt (Bat 33, S/R 42)
T Hawkins (Bat 9.2, S/R 38.72)

Reserves:
O Hemp - inj (Bat 42.08)
D Currie (Bat 34, WK)
A Dave (Bat 15.66, S/R 88)
L Dyer (Bat 1, S/R 39)
C Mpofu (Bat 3.8, S/R 42)

Thanks in advance :)

Yeah im having a similar problem with Canterbury. Batsmen are just out or form and there isnt much you can do. Perhaps you can give Currie a go, or try reshuffling the lineup a bit.

Well even though Richards made that huge ton, his games played is 1!!! Take this into account because experiance helps...Christian also doesn't have many.

I'm not 100% sure, but this could be part of the problem...

yeah, i think mr p's spot on there. you've got a few players that don't have much experience.
personally, i'd bat them in this order, although if a player is making runs from a certain spot, leave him there.

Jenkins
French
Richards
Muzumdar
Christian
Stratton
Olney
Singh
Butt
Hawkins
Dyer

when hemp comes back, i'd replace him simply for a player who isn't playing well, which could very likely be richards. but the good thing is that you bat deep-- you're number 9 (in my order, at least), is averaging 33, which isn't shabby at all.

Richards hasn't got a 100 :(, 162 is his season runs.

Yeah i think that my biggest problem is that Christain and Richards haven't got many games under their belt and their meant to be two of my better batsmen.

I'd put

Dyer
Mpofu
Singh
Khan
Jenkins
Christain
Muzumbar
Dave
Currie
French
Stratton

But then again, I want you to lose :p

do not put bowlers as opening batsmen. its not worth it. with SA last year Midlane was my best batsman as an opener, Foot with an average of 50 hit a double centuery in the first game of this season. this talk about good batsman not getting good scores as openers is rubbish.

I always had succes with Jenkins opening, French was good at 4 or 5 and Stratton the same...

Always happy to help my Kent manager out

This is how the boys would line up for me.

M Jenkins (Bat 44.76)
A Christain (Bat 52.41)
A Muzumbar (Bat 53)
D Richards (Bat 53)
R Stratton (Bat 42.3, S/R 42.88)
L French (Bat 41.2)
J Singh (Bat 37.5, WK)
NT Khan (Bat 36.55)
R Olney (Bat 33.7, S/R 38.5)
Z Butt (Bat 33, S/R 42)
T Hawkins (Bat 9.2, S/R 38.72)

Reserves:
O Hemp - inj (Bat 42.08)
D Currie (Bat 34, WK)
A Dave (Bat 15.66, S/R 88)
L Dyer (Bat 1, S/R 39)
C Mpofu (Bat 3.8, S/R 42)

Get your best guys in up the top with you having Singh and Khan at the top your pushing one of your better batsman like French (well he was for me anyway) down to 8 and he wont ever get you a decent score from there batting with the tail.

Use your ok batsman to score the odd run at the bottom and let your best batsman have all the time possible to get big runs.

The idea though is good for the OD game, to allow a weaker batsman to see of the best bowlers before all your stars come in against the part timers :D

I'll also be tempted though to bring in Dyer for Khan (form depending) to boost the bowling a bit as if the opposition dont score well, there is less pressure on your batsman to be chasing 550 every game; and it's not like your weaken your batting as your still have a guy with a avg of 33 @ 9.

Hope it helps, give me a shout if you ever need a hand.
