Hendrik Verwoed and his right-wing idiots created apartheid so everyone calls it Centurion. I've actually never been there.
Everything with a trace of the name 'Verwoed' in it has been changed. Near Bloem there was the Verwoed dam but now it's called the Gariep dam.
