How Many Players Can We Keep??

Eyes_Only

International Debutant
Can someone please explain to me how many players we can keep before the draft?? I have 12 that I would like to keep including Nathan Bracken who I have coming from NSW!

Could someone aslo explain to me how the draft picks work??

Thanks guys...

There's a long thread further down Eyes that I think towards the end explains it all.
If you want to keep 12 players you'll need to trade away 2 draft picks for players. You're not then obliged to retain those players in your 12.
GB did say that he might consider requests to keep 11 and drop a draft pick, but that's the full extent of leeway given.

At this rate the draft is going to be a farce with so many people retaining 12 or 13 players that the whole point of the draft will be negated.

Maybe so but people who retain DP's will benefit even more...
So really its their choice...

How do we benefit more when there's less good players being released onto the draft, and more dross.

Surely we're being penalised as we're getting more players of a lower quality?

Well last time I looked the 48 Acadmey players looked rather good to me :D

My recommendation for next season is that, as in American Football, each team must choose at least 3 draft players. This would allow each manager to retain up to 13 players at the cull. Simple and fair considering that we only have 16 player squads.

My guess is that next year that won't be as many problems as people won't be trying to lose 10 or so players each.

yea graham your point is pretty good , but there are ppl who would like to keep only 10 , then what about them , should they be still left with the 3 extra low quality players

I think you have to go to 10 each next season - keeping 13 won't spread the good players, which is the idea of the draft!

I vote next season that every single player from every single team is placed in the draft... We each have 16 picks in turn of where we finish. And re-build our whole team.

That would stop all this confusion :P ;) :D

Sorry rich thats stupid.
the whole base of a team is then stopped.

I have 11 players i wanna keep is that still possible or do i have to trade away my last draft pick?

I know I was joking.. I was being scarsactic over the ammount of people who are having problems with the way the draft has been layed out. When the board chose this idea we thought it would be the easist of the ideas to understand, guess we were wrong.

It is easy until people start wanting to keep more than the 10, but not doing anything to rid themselves of draft picks.

I do hope my suggestion that anyone traded in during the pre-draft after season 2 cannot be dumped is taken on board, as that'll make the game a lot more skilful IMO.
