Gutting - great player to watch and so valuable for Zimbabwean cricket. I see that this was a case of colon cancer. Far too young. As I’ve mentioned before - if in doubt, get it checked out. I’m in my 40s and on a three-year colonoscopy cycle due to risk factors and previously detected polyps. If I hadn’t had that awkward conversation with the GP, maybe I’d have left it too late.

Jesus. Just horrible news - after the reports of his cancer emerged earlier in the year it seems that everyone feared the worst, but even so 49 is no age at all. RIP to a very fine cricketer.

This is really sad. He was of course a key part of the Zim team I fell in love with in 1999 and 2000.

Heath was not a perfect person. He made mistakes. But he was a great cricketer.

I still honestly believe Shakib bore the brunt of the ban just to not give away Streak. We can discuss long on the ethics but to me, it also shows he was a seen as a genuinely good person, friend and coach. This is really so tragic.
