I thought it would be good to hear from the managers about their own teams chances of success this season and what they hope to achieve, as well as add in players to watch, whatever tickles your fancy really!

Chittagong see this as a season of discovery, the side, and its coach are inexperienced and it will take a big effort this season. We will struggle in first class cricket, but hopefully we will put up a strong showing in OD cricket, though the other teams that have joined the division six appear to have the better resources, the Cougars believe in the team ethic and will give their all for each other.

Players to look out for: V Hurley, N Sharma

Colts really looking to dominate the OD game this season, as some may have guessed by our trading strategy. we have not worried too much about 4d at all. i must say im very happy with the results with a very impressive OD batting lineup and a scary bowling lineup.

Players to watch
OD Batting: S Cook

OD Bowling: L Cush

4d Batting: T Darden

4d bowling: hmm A Razzaq ;)

Tasmania are a lot stronger in bowling than batting this year, particularly in the one-day game.

Players to look out for:M Pascoe, J Sharma

Tamil Nadu will be hoping for a big effort in the 4D arena. We expect to come atleast 2nd and while it there would be no shame in coming 2nd to SA, I'd much prefer if we came first. But both of our teams are very even and I would say they should outperform the other sides. Of coruse, nothing's ever a certainty in cricket!

OD wise we'll be hoping for 3rd to 1st. But I'm not too worried how we do. I guess it'd be the icing on the cake if we managed to come 2nd in OD and get into div 1. But I'm not too phased at how we do. However our side would have to be up there in div 2, probably the 2nd or 3rd strongest side. Colts to smash us!

id certainly say that TN and Colts are the clear standouts in div 2, i reakon you will come 1st or 2nd easy

Lancashire will yet again be aiming to avoid relegation in FC, but are hopeful of putting up a good show in defending their OD title!

i dont think TN's one day side is anywhere near as good as the fc team. Its pretty good, but definately not as good as urs age...

Somerset looking to perform strongly in FC, in a very strong division.

In OD, well, I can see our team doing very well at times and terrible at others...a very strong batting line up backed by TERRIBLE bowling. Possibly could get relegated, possibly promoted, but more likely neither...

Players to look for:

FC Batting: J Godwin
FC Bowling: B Collyer

OD Batting: S Elahi
OD Bowling: R Dhamika

Warwickshire will be hoping to maintain our division 1 status in the one dayers. It was a surprise to have made it there so soon, especially considering we were in division 3 only 2 seasons back. If we have the right attitude we should be able to go okay.

In the four dayers I'm expecting all sorts of heroics. We finally made it division 2 after 3 seasons in division 3. The current side is certainly the strongest Warwickshire have assembled yet in WCC. Our side should be good enough to win division 2 and I'll be disapointed if we don't go close.

Also, I think I speak for everyone when Warwickshire hopes that Tamil Nadu bombs out. I mean they've got to the most hated and overrated side in the league. So c'mon other teams, rise up and knock them down

If Guyana don't get promoted or at least make the promotion play-off Guyana manager may be looking for a new position. After three seasons of rebuilding and slight improvement the club now want results.

Look out for Jenkins, Vernon & Satti.

After a succesful 2004 where the teams goals were met, Western Province are looking for another succesful year...

This year in 4 day the aim is consolidation... We've been probably the most successful 4day team in the past 2 seasons, only losing 3 games in total. This year the competition will however be stronger and to maintain our good results a lift will be needed. The main aim will be to finish in the top half of the ladder... whether this means promotion is another thing. We're realistic about our chances and I'm hoping for a finish in 3rd place, if not sneak through to a promotion game.

4 Day Players to watch:
F Funston. After being named 4 day player of the year last year... The sky's the limit in season 6.
N Kumble. The new bowling sensation to hit the streets of Western Province... Should live up to hype

Last season absolutely no emphasis was placed upon the OD game for Province and the result showed. This season I've made a concious effort to improve the performance in this game by building a much stronger OD side. In Div 5 I only really see one main opponent in Guyana and they should give the division a great run for their money. I'm hoping for promotion at the end of the year and whether it comes through a playoff game or a title win is another thing.

Players to watch:
E Drumbill- The One Day specialist batsman in the side is capable of turning games.
N Khan- Possibly his last season and will want to go out with a bang with the ball

The Argonaut

State Vice-Captain
Queensland will be hoping to avoid relegation in division 1 4 day and if lucky look for promotion from div 2 1 day. After last season's poor one day form I'm looking for a better effort this season.

Worcestershire have the strongest squad I have ever assembled, but that doesn't count for much because the opposition we are up against looks tougher than ever as well. After initial optimism we are taking a more cautious approach. In 4-day we will do well to avoid relegation, and are desperate to do so. In 1-day we are more confident, and believe we have an outside chance of promotion (we had a good chance of a top-2 finish last season, but blew it), however the new teams in D3 this season are very strong and we are probably just as likely to be relegated as we are to be promoted. No rash predictions will be made.

let me re assess my OD goals. i just played a 5 match OD series against Guyana and we'll be happy to avoid relegation... put it that way.
