What do I vote when I don't think Gooch stomps Cook but he does win very convincingly and excelled where Cook failed? Meh

more than one person can be insane, it's not a big deal. Plus, I expect you to rate Cook given India 2012-13 hehe

Seems like most people agree with you actually. Gooch > Cook outside CW would be an unpopular opinion.

Why not both??? Look, I know Trumper's reputation is out blowing his output, as much I know I overrate him; but he was the best batsman ever (arguably) in stickies at his best and suffered from health conditions. Add to that, he is IMO the Greatest human being of a top tier player (ofcourse shouldn't count in his ratings, but alright). Moreso, by rep, he is top 10 Ever. Even I can't find a way to rate him that high. What I can do is rate him in the Chappell/Waugh/Ponting tier.

Based on what? I haven’t heard many positive or negative personal anecdotes about him tbh. Completely neutral on him as a person.

Have read a few articles on his personal character. Will link an article if I found one.
Read a lot of small anecdotes; like him always taking the most uncomfortable seat in a train ride or selling kids kits for a very cheap cost, etc etc.
