Fulton a bolter for England 2004

Craig

Well Canterbury batsman Peter Fulton has been in some very good form this season in the State Championship (four-day cricket for those who dont know) and I am wondering if he keeps it up, maybe he's a bolter for a spot in the tour to England with the Black Caps next year?

He's made a couple of centuries and a several fifties so far and is topping the averages. Fulton of course is known for making that 300.

No this had no reference to kent batsman David Fulton, although discussion could lead that way.

Now, Craig. Are you insinuating that certain characters on Cricket Web are prone to, er, wandering on to different subj... oh, look. A robin in my back garden.

Peter Fulton's player page

(just kidding).

Seriously, I think he's got every chance.

Yes. There have been moments.

Been there, done that, bought the T Shirt.

Can't see it being reopened to be honest (unfortunately other dead topics do keep rearing their ugly head :( )

certainly Fulton & McIntosh are pressing hard for spots in the squad & with Vincent struggling & Jones perhaps too slow there could be a couple of openings, same story goes for Wilson re the bowling if he keeps his form when he gets back........

We will just see who is the better Fulton on the 13th, 14th, 15th and 16th of May 2004 when the real Fulton shows himself to the Kent faithful at Canterbury!

Oh and if NZ bring M.Walker on the tour also, iam giving up I'll just find the bar

Back to the subject obviously not seen any of the young group coming through the ranks, but from what I have read on here and in news reports he looks a promising player and all his hard work over the past two seasons along with just being in the form of his life. Also it sounds very much as if he has proved any doubters that it wasn't first season luck as he is performing again this season.

I'll picked him, if they play him or not is then the question but just to get him in the party and experiance a tour can only help him in the long run.

Do NZ play Kent on tour? Imagine M.Walker bowling to M.Walker?

Half arn't actually dead to be honest. They are strong arguements backed up by strong evidence and deserve to be dead by the pure strength of that evidence.

Yes they do, the 13th of May 2004 in a Four Day match.

Kent unlike most teams normally field a pretty good side, it really depends on fixtures around the match. So New Zeland might have the fun of meeting M.Sami again or trying to stop the machine that is Symo!

We also have a very good record in recent years over the touring sides as well, we have defeated or got a draw over every team going back to 1998.

Zimbabwe (by a inngs), India (Won), West Indies 'A' (Won), Pakistan (Draw), South Africa, Sri Lanka (Draw), New Zealand (Draw)

The only defeat came last season when we lost by 101 runs to the South African side, when the game was played in the busy part of the season (start of Aug) so was a much weakened side we had to field.

The most rewarding win must have been beatting the ODI specialists India after we posted 284 agaist a full strenght side and bowled them out for 250ish  (sorry it was to tempting ;) )

Tim did make a list in some thread a while back but I can't find it - there do seem, from the evidence of discussion on here, to be several very promising batsmen emerging into the First-Class game in New Zealand (the one-day-game, as Tim pointed-out, was something of a no-man's-land for them).
Fulton and Ryder appear the most talked-of, but we've heard mention of McIntosh, too.
Could someone list the urls to the player pages, to help lazy buggers like me?

So what's going on here, both called Fulton, both play at Canterbury, both never scored runs in one day cricket....

Actually Peter Fulton plays for Canterbury while David Fulton plays for Kent as everybody knows.
