Who's the straw that stirs the drink? I.e. how good was he without one or both of Garner and Marshall.

Same goes for Garner and Marshall too, I suppose, but their averages in all conditions are so immaculate that I don't need to nitpick like that. With Holding, against this stiff of competition, I think you do.

Garner wasn't that great in the 70's and it was Holding who was the no. 1 till '83.
